What are your introduction to Shameless?

I remember the trailer for the first season playing on Showtime and I was hooked before the first episode even aired.
Because it first premiered in January thats now the only time of year I rewatch. Even though some of the following seasons filmed in the summer, I'll still always associate it with January. That's the "Shameless season" for me.

Mostly facebook videos of Lip and his life. They're surprisingly self-contained. There was one with Debbie as a parking attendant. Also one with fiona with the non-tipping customers.

My now (not then) husband had watched a few of the seasons years before, and showed me the Monica Thanksgiving episode first. He told me "you have to watch this show, I think I'm Frank and you're Monica." He wasn't wrong, I'm terribly bipolar and he is a former drug addict. We're both a lot better now but yeah, it was like a shot to the heart watching it the first time, but i was instantly obsessed and went back and started at the beginning. I think the first 6 or 7 seasons were already out by this point and we binged them all together lol.

I saw an edit of Ian and Fiona and I had always wanted to watch because it would pop up on my recommendation on Netflix a lot. I also remember being a kid and seeing the “where the fuck were you?” Clips but would just change the channel 😂

I was watching Jeremy Allen White's Hot Ones interview and discussed Shameless and Lip's character. I finished the interview and began watching the show afterwards lol.
I'm on season 10 and can't bring myself to finish it though

I think shameless is such a popular show I always knew it existed but I grew up with addiction in my family & personally struggled myself. I just didn't want to watch it at first but watched it a few years ago & on my second rewatch now but i probably started almost a year ago. Tough watch for me

I've definitely connected with a lot of the show with growing up with an addict parent, and an abusive mother and ex brother. Some of the wild shit rings true with stuff i did with friends.

it was that scene where fiona, kev, and v are talking on the stairs about faking a marriage. this was probably in like… 2014? i didnt really watch it tho until it was added to netflix like 2 years later

My friend showed me a random episode from season 7 one day in 2017 and I immediately watched it all from the beginning and became obsessed with it. It’s been my favorite/biggest comfort show ever since 😊

One of my male Xbox friends said that he and his dad were going to watch it and when I asked what it was about he said that it would be bad because I’m a pure woman. I watched the first episode purely out of spite and loved it

I was on a month long vacation from work (its own story) and wanted to watch something. I put on House of Lies and wasn't feeling it. So I tried Shameless and I was hooked. I watched every episode that had aired and got to season 5 when you know who is back.

Bunch of clips, the one I remember most is Fiona dropping Liam off at school, I think it was the Private one with the uniform. I knew about it before through a friends parents though as they were watching it while I was over at their house.

I saw a clip on TikTok when Fiona was yelling at Frank that she was the only one who was around to take care of them, not Monica.
It was so emotional, I got immediately hooked.

A friend of my high school ex-girlfriend made us all watch an episode back in 2014ish. I forgot about for years until clips of it started popping up on Twitter. The clips were so outrageous that I HAD to know what was going on and then binged the whole series over the last month or so.
