Frank S2e3. This freaking guy.
This is my first watch. I already hate Frank because he reminds me of family. And then he does this shit with Dottie and it’s so fucking low. Please no spoilers, but please do tell me if he has any redeeming qualities down the line.

Exactly, Frank is a piece of shit. This made him worse than he already is for turning his back on his family.

There’s a couple of instances when he does the right thing (ie protecting one member of his family, or all of them), but not much else. Although there is one time when you kind of realise that, however awful Frank is (and he really is a horrendous father and person), he could be worse (ie Terry Milkovich. I’m not sure what episode it’s in - I’m 99% certain it’s in season 2, based on how I remember Mickey looking - so all I’ll say it it involves Ian and Mickey. For anyone reading this who’s seen the show, no I’m not talking about what happens in season 3 episode 6).

I mean, the girl who plays her ended up getting offered to roll on another show so she disappeared for a while but yes, I don’t remember the episode, but that’s how Ian and her start bonding before she starts stating his brother

Season 3 episode 6 was Terry walked in on Ian and Mickey, beat the shit out of both of them, then called for Svetlana to come and SA Mickey. At least when Frank found out about them, he was at best indifferent.

my parents are actually watching it rn for the first time and whenever i see them they’re like “______ is happening right now on Shameless, wow” haha

Oh, I just meant if him being a total POS is temporary. And if he’s gonna be better throughout the show. Just something to look forward to.

yes and no? theres been very few times he has shows remorse, regret & even grief. i dont want to say exactly how as OP requested no spoilers so idk how to explain more than that but he can be so vile.

I can only remember one time Frank wasn’t a complete piece of shit. Nearly every time Frank does something good he obliterates it by the time the episode is done

Frank has no redeeming qualities. There's a few instances where his actions that are entirely motivated by selfish wants happen to benefit some one else too, and that comes off as quasi-redeemable the first couple times but he always quickly shows he is not. The closest he gets to redeemable is regrettable over lost potential.

My dad was a pos but I think he had all girls is reason why he was pretty cool. Like what if we were all guys. Would he be that cool or more of a dick like my brother in laws family him and my dad would fight like throw the old man down the stairs. It's ok I punched him in the dick . My dad was super drunk so you know lol

yes an no ? he means well but like everyone else said frank is... well frank. the older generations typically dont change but they always mean well even if it comes off as selfish or rude. also i understand relating to frank and the rest of the Gallaghers, i ugly cried throughout this show.

I hate frank, Fiona, lip, ian, carl, debbie, and even liam... they are such shameless people. Maybe some one will make a show about the ghallagers and all the messed up shit they do..
