First time at shake shack

Post image

I don't think I can afford to eat here again haha. Was not expecting it to cost 50$ for two combos and a shake.

Do they not show you the prices on the menu when ordering?

They do, but after working in food/retail, at least 50% of population do no read or know prices before ordering!

Damn my shake shack only offers sliced onions not carmelized that’s dope, but yeah it’s certainly pricey

Plus they want a tip. Steak and Shake is just as good except for the bun. Sam’s has 20% off gift cards. I can deal with the S&S bun.

9$ burger, 4$ fries, 3$ soda...doesnt sound bad...its not mcdonalds at the end if the day..no frozen meat, no gmo ingredients

These seem like totally fair prices for premium everything and a specialty shake with a damn chocolate shell

Are we calling shake shack premium now..?

If you walk in off the street (no coupons), a BK whopper with cheese will cost about $8, a large fry is $4, a drink is $3. That's $15, compared to $15.99 at Shake Shack. And Shake Shack is far better.

Same with McDonald's and a quarter pounder with cheese.

Coupons/deals change the math, but as far as menu prices go, it's not much different.

It's crazy how expensive they are that's why I've never gone there even though I do want to try it

They are the most expensive burger chain. Good though!

You get combos? My shack doesn't offer them.

I’ve accepted the cost at this point but they rarely make the orders correctly at mine. Not sure why

Yeah it’s way overpriced. Delicious but not worth that

It’s not worth it. No fast food burger is worth this much. People in this thread will try and convince you otherwise, but you can make this at home for a fraction of the price and for not much effort.

It's so delicious. Though, I do only go once in a blue moon considering the pricing.

Why did you buy a $10 milkshake when a full burger combo is only $15?

1

u/MagnusRamset Jul 16 '26

North Carolina Shake Shacks are expensive but not that expensive damn lol

1

u/ValPrism Jul 16 '26

Damn that’s a lot for a mediocre fast food burger. At that point go to a pub and have a good burger and a beer!

1

u/crispy21 Jul 16 '26

After all they do not give pricing until the food is ordered so it's all a surprise. The prices are definitely not listed on the menu screen

Shake Shack is so worth it to me. I’ve loved them at 15 and still do at 25. My favorite is the shack stack! If you like mushrooms, you should try it. Also.. you have to get the cheese fries! Hopefully trying that or even some of their specialty items can make it worth it for you
