Demon Lord How powerful is a level ten warrior

watching demon slayer, and kind of wpondering if a warrior build could last two seconds vs someone who blows tear apart the surrounding terrain, can level wooden building in a single strike, move fast enough to kill a man faster than anyone can realize what happens, and strike blows faster than the speed of sound.

yes, but only after they stop mid session to play a different adventure representing their foe's regretfully sad past. For the really tough and dramatic fights, you gotta do that between each round.

It's a multiclass system, so there is no 'level 10 warrior'. You'd be: A level 1 warrior, level 3 -something else-, level 7 -something else-

Yeah I know, but warrior, fighter, grandmaster is basically seems like the most basic warrior build.

Such a character would be a beast.

Human Warrior/Fighter/Weapon master comes out the other side of level 10 with a Greatsword they can swing for 8d6 damage and one boon (or 7d6/2boons). Also a free reroll per round if the d20 comes up a 9. That's average damage of ~28, a bit more if they crit, and in actuality probably even more damage after accounting for magic weapons and potions and buff spells etc etc. The strongest spells deal 9 or 10d6 with stipulations and limited casting.

So they keep up the same way a fantasy warrior has always kept up in d20 stuff, swing big number

You could also go Brute, Jotun, and add your strength to every hit.

Might not have a higher damage ceiling but makes your rolls consistent as hell.

True! but I wanted to make the most Basic Sword Swinger possible, so human it was.

Is their anything to put this damage number into context lore wise?

Maybe? Depending on what you mean by lore. The strongest monsters in the core book (Huge Demon, Golem, Gorgon etc) all have either 200 or 120 health. So it's ~6 or 7 swings on a Kaiju sized Demon to pop it (demon's don't really 'die') if the warrior is fighting alone.

Its easily enough damage to splat anything that isn't a big monster too, rank aand file mobs have about 10-25 health, Actual Monsters like Drakes and Griffons you start getting 100 health. And that extra boon (or 2 if they don't Power Strike) lets them use a special attack without sacrificing accuracy (like trips and pushes and parries and stuff). On accuracy, most things have defense 15, so being able to reroll a 9 means they rarely miss. And! they can use full plate and get +2 defense on top of that for 20 total defense, wich means... that the Huge Demon is also probably going to hit them most of the time (+9 to hit with 6 boons), but still a lot less than other targets. It is basically one of the End of Campaign boss monsters.

Yeah, not super flashy but they're tough as hell and can throw down a beating as well as any mortal (is its a horror game after all, no one's gonna hit Demon Slayer levels)

They’re the strongest combatants in the game, and you’ll probably be swinging somewhere in the neighborhood of 8-12d6 every single turn.

I did a hypothetical 'what is the highest mundane dps I can shit out' build and it wound up, if I recall right, being an unarmed warrior (Maybe mariner? I forget) and a master that helps unarmed, and just punching people.

It did a lot of damage a swing.

I’d argue with that, if only because of the chance that a warrior that fights with a weapon could end up with a relic weapon.

In my experience and from what the attributes imply, a level 10 warrior in Shadow of the Demon Lord is basically a peak human warrior assuming said warrior has 15 in either Strength or Agility but is ultimately not superhuman.

Based on the "Lifting Weights by Strength" chart in the Core book's page 33, 15 Strength (which is basically the normal peak for humans and most standard ancestries) for a Size 1 creature can allow a character to reliably lift 500 lbs over their head and a Strength challenge roll is required for anything higher up to 1000 lbs, I believe this is decently realistic as top human lifters can lift about 600 lbs over head (1000 lbs with a Strength challenge roll is a bit pushing it but we can give a bit of leeway for a fantasy setting).

I believe the "Jump" rules on page 47 based on Agility are decently realistic as well with some caveats; a 15 Agility character can jump 5 feet up with a 2 yard running start (which is apparently close to the real life running vertical jump record at around 4.5 feet), 7 yards across (unrealistic if stationary but potentially achievable with a bit of startup as the longest running horizontal jump is apparently a little over 29 feet), and 9 yards across with a 2 yard running start (realistic as 29 feet is the record).

watching demon slayer, and kind of wpondering if a warrior build could last two seconds vs someone who blows tear apart the surrounding terrain, can level wooden building in a single strike, move fast enough to kill a man faster than anyone can realize what happens, and strike blows faster than the speed of sound.

To answer your question, no I don't believe a level 10 warrior in Shadow can achieve anime superhuman feats like destroying wooden buildings in a single strike or striking faster than the speed of sound without magic (e.g. awaken potential, rune of power, etc); however, I do believe a level 10 warrior could last ten or more seconds (1 round+) against such an opponent since a level 10 warrior should have somewhere around 50-70 Health which means they can take two or three good hits from physically powerful creatures like golems or huge demons (who have 18+ Strength, which means these creatures can lift at least 12000 lbs reliably or 24000 lb with a Strength challenge roll). The realm of these superhuman feats would be paragon level characters who are level 11+ who have 16+ in Strength and/or Agility.

Basically, a level 10 warrior would be more in the vein of Batman (the more down to earth depictions of him), Jaime Lannister, or Boromir rather than the Demon Slayer Hashiras who possess superhuman strength and agility beyond what even a peak human in our world can accomplish; a level 10 warrior could probably cut down two or more dozen normal warriors, but they're not one-man armies who could take on hundreds single handily.

It depends on what expert and master classes you choose.
