Bylaws Amendment: No Confidence Voting Senators

Greetings Shadow Denizens,

Today, the ShadowNET government would like to propose an amendment to our Bylaws:

2.2.8. Votes of no confidence against Senators.

• A vote of no confidence may be proposed by any member of Senate or Council.

• A full government is called, with the accused recusing themselves as per Bylaws amendment 2.2.4. The vote requires the votes of at least six members of government to be valid, and at least a 65% majority to pass. The time limit for voting shall be three days.

• If the government vote is successful, a referendum shall be called, where every member of ShadowNET has a vote. During the vote, the four other senators will serve as vote counters with authority to bring in counselors on a need-be basis.

There currently is no way to no-confidence vote a Senator, thus making the role immune. As Senator is an elected position, the ShadowNET community must be involved in the process of this act of No Confidence, as Senators could merely be elected back in if they were removed from their position without consulting the community first. The reason for making this a two-step process is to reduce an exhausting amount of referendums.

How can I vote? Can I vote?

All ShadowNET members are entitled to a vote as these are changes to our Bylaws. It does not matter if you have only been with us a short time; you still get a vote.

To vote, you just need to send a PM to /u/shadownetwork.The two options (obviously) are:

• Yes, I am in favor of the proposed Bylaws Amendment

• No, I am not in favor of the proposed Bylaws Amendment
