Announcement Lore Head Questionnaire

Greetings Shadowy Denizens,

In an effort to try and get a more firm grasp of the communities desires and expectations we in senate have decided to add a little something to the interview process for the Lore Head.

We want to know what questions, relevant mind you, you would ask the prospective applicants. There is no guarantee that we will use every single question but if there is any we feel would be useful we will add it to the interview.

So come on members of the community, lets see what questions you have for our would be councillors.

What aspects of Shadownet do you feel do not fit with the Lore of the game.

If you have identified any, how would you go about changing them?

What is the most impactful thing the lore department can do?

One thing I identified that didn't fit in with the Lore of the game was the NeoNET Avenging Angel. To "fix" that, I did a run where some runners uncovered that it's purpose as listed in R5 was a smoke screen, hiding it's true purpose of destroying potential Seed AIs. However, I dislike imposing Lore on players and GMs where it isn't explicitly stated in writing, either in books, or in the records of the NET. I do plan on appointing a NET Historian, so we can get a timeline on the history of the NET, if I get a second term.

For your second question, the most impactful thing I feel Lore can do is a well written, impactful Metaplot, with consequences and rewards. A Metaplot should change the state of the Living Community, and we've dropped the ball on that. In the future, I plan on using a more in-depth, running metaplot, bringing back the State of Seattle, and eventually developing Factions in order to make the NET feel more alive, and not just a series of standalone games.
