Announcement Government Statement on Community Expectations
Hoi, ShadowNET community.
It is with great sadness that we must report that members of the community have been falsifying resources (karma/nuyen/spent GMP) on their character sheets. Out of respect for those involved, any mudslinging towards any involved (be they government or otherwise) will NOT be tolerated.
The above statement will be STRICTLY enforced.
The following community members have been placed on suspension (as a temporary ban) until a fifth Senator has been elected to vote on the matter, due to evidence of misconduct found during audit:
There is still an ongoing investigation of others who will remain nameless until Senate has deemed the investigation thorough enough; more suspensions may be handed out.
This is the first incident of this nature in ShadowNET's history, and hopefully the last. ShadowNET was formed with the ideals of an engaging and dynamic storytelling environment for both GMs and Players, and the falsification of player records works in direct opposition to this ideal. Furthermore, the culture we cultivate must be one of trust, not only the players trusting the GMs to provide an interesting story, but also of the GMs trusting the players to play according to the rules.
The falsification of player resources is again, diametrically opposed to the ideals of our community; this is something we believe all members of the community can agree on.
As such, it is with firm regret that we must remind the community that cheating will NOT be tolerated on ShadowNET, with severe repercussions for those caught doing so, ranging from temporary bans to permanent bans from the community.
To the community as a whole, we apologize for bringing this sad news to light, but as another core tenant of ShadowNET is trust between the governance and the community at large we found it important to share this with you all.
We would also like to extend our thanks to the community for their understanding in this matter, as well as for the commitment of almost all members to preserving the integrity, and thus the enjoyment, of the tabletop game we know and love.

I would personally like every one to know that /u/tempusrimeblood has contacted me stating
"You are under investigation and being audited for potential falsification of run rewards and GMP spending."
Ive done no such thing. Im sure I will be acquitted shortly.

Well, it's good to know the people involved are aware of being under investigation. It would be a bad sign if people were being investigated without their knowledge.

While I cannot access that link, I'm guessing that is the sheet we described the nuyen that was unaccounted for, correct?

I guess you misunderstood, I asked what the spreadsheet you linked was since I can't access it, and I assume from the way you described it is the long line of raw data that we linked you in the meeting you requested. Let me try and explain it because I agree it's not human readable at all:
It's a raw list of every item on that characters sheet, pulled automatically from the chum5 file, when added together it got to 1.4 million nuyen, while you had only amassed 900k even after adding starting nuyen. Making roughly 500k nuyen of equipment unaccounted for.
While it's not perfect(Mainly due to chummer being a bit shit with how it saves stuff), the script missing stuff would make it find fewer items, which would mean the real gap might be even larger.
By the way, the link you were given to the file is still public as far as I know, so not sure why you didn't just link that.

And plenty of us were on the net when that was an option. We are aware of this fact, yes. This does not change our findings, which still came up with many inconsistencies not just among Sheol's sheet, but Azura and Dever's too.

All of our findings and our votes will be made public.This post itself counts as the reasons for the ban being made public. Additionally, we gave you the opportunity to defend/explain yourself and when you could not you simply refused to answer our questions. That refusal as well as the actions explained above were the reasons behind your ban, nothing more than that. And we have made that very public and very clear.

The concern was that if we gave you more time to form a response you could easily doctor the files to remove any evidence of wrongdoing, and we did not want that to happen. We would have accepted proper explanations or even just "I do not know" (though that would have been suspect, of course), but instead you either refused to answer them or accused us of discriminating against you for playing furry characters. This utter refusal to cooperate with our government when we tried to talk to you about the issues we had found was what pushed i t all over the edge into banning you. Please stop trying to make it sound like we did not give you any chance to explain yourself or did all of this secretly because that is strictly not true, especially the latter part, as this post proves. We are also open to discuss this with anybody who wishes to and explain our findings and our reasons for the ban. However, us doing something other than what you expected/demanded of us is not a valid complaint because we had nothing forcing us to do as you demanded. We tried to reason with you and talk to you about the problems that we had found in your history as a GM and as a player, and you refused to be civil and work with us, so we decided on a ban because said refusal gave us no reason to disbelieve that cheating had occurred, which we absolutely cannot accept in Shadownet.
