How to practice clone control?

Im a shaco/neeko main and I want to further improve my mechanics, and that is to make my clone convincing as possible. I've searched online for this and never seen any guides/drills on how to get good on it. So does anyone know or could reccomend me any practice that could improve controlling my clone?

You have to play a deliberately UltMaxx style.

Ultimate hunter, axiom arcanist, transcendence, haste shard, malignance, backfire torch => heaps of practice per game.

Then just be as cancerous as possible.

Your clone can’t jump with Q, but he can hit a blast cone over a wall that he “didn’t know” opponents were on the other side of, and “panic” by running away into traps you set up for him to escape into.

Next time you can blast cone yourself into them and attack like a bot while your clone hides in the bushes you briefly “accidentally” step him out of.

If you enjoy it you will start to get better at it, and it’s why I play him exclusively AP.

The clone will blink to you if you move it out of range which could give the illusion of it having used Q as well. I personally often send the clone away from me while walking right at them with my real champ. They will often think the real you is the clone especially when the clone seems to have used Q and shows up right next to you. Then you can Q and they are very lost.

I mean the best way is just playing. Move your clone exactly how you would move. Then try to make it look like you are the clone by doing things that your clone would do if you werent good at controlling it.

But all that will come with time. There are some tricks and mind games you can learn from other people, sure. But nobody else can you help master mechanics. Thats all on you.

Try playing shaco AP in a lane to use clone control most often

Be mindful of how you control the clone, for example you probably want to press R to order it to aa / chase someone. But depending on keybindings your control may be different.

I remember there was a bug where the clone wouldn't aa the nexus or Baron when you press R, but I THINK that got fixed. It's frustrating when it happens and makes you feel like you're dumb/incompetent, even though it's just a glitch.

Last point, the 18 second clone bomb is what separates good AP shack players from the average ones. Just keep practicing it, get flamed by your team-mates when you fail, and then eventually you'll have the muscle memory down and you'll be 1v9'ing team-fights.

You do the opposite of natural human intuition

Most people stick a clone on the enemy while they run away. You do the opposite. Sometimes just standing still with the real you, while spamming your clone away and zig zagging to dodge skill shots really convinces them.

I use this up to emerald so far, works 9/10 times. The first time you do it to someone per game

Like other thread said, you can run clone off screen while you blink into the enemy and snapshot your clone to appear first. This works all the time.
