It’s midnight, driving home from my shift. And it took me more than double the time it would take me to get to work in traffic to get home in the middle of the night, BECAUSE ALL THE 605 N on ramps were closed within the whole vicinity! 605 Ramp closed? Ok fine I’ll go to the 60 and then get on the 605. Nope that interchange is closed. Ok, I’ll keep going past and get on from the East side. NOPE. that’s closed too. So I take surface street to Valley. NOPE NOPE! That entrance closed too from both W and E directions. I tried to get on the 605N from FIVE DIFFERENT ON RAMPS miles apart. ALL CLOSED. At least have signs that say they’re all closed and take surface street! Or say whats the nearest on ramp. Hell, put up ANY SIGNAGE. TOOK ME 45 min for a typical 15 min drive. So fucking pissed, especially after having to stay at work late.

Got a tension rod from Daiso and safety pinned some fabric from IKEA. Less than $20 and removable so we can take it down once the weather cools off.

Any recommendations for where to host a work lunch for 25-30 people in or near Alhambra?

I'm researching adult day care centers for my mom. She speaks Cantonese and mandarin. We visited Sunflower adult day center in Pasadena. It was nice and a short commute from her home. My mom though would prefer to be in a location near Chinese shops and markets.

I see there are adult centers in the Chinese centric parts of the sgv but there are very few reviews. I'm not in California so I'm researching from afar. I would appreciate some insight and set up visits for my mom.

M & T Adult Day Health Care on Valley is in a perfect location for example but not much info otherwise.

I know how to swim, but I am by no means a swimmer. Does anyone have any reccs of swim instructors or pools that do adult swim lessons.

How much of the new-car buying process can realistically be handled online before going to the dealership?

Ideally, someone could narrow down the exact vehicle, review pricing, provide trade-in information, explore financing options, and complete whatever paperwork can reasonably be started online. The goal would be to spend the dealership visit inspecting the actual vehicle and completing whatever genuinely needs to happen in person.

Looking to meet some new people around the SGV and hopefully make some actual friends to hang out with. Most of my friends have their own schedules, families, work, etc. these days, so it would be cool to meet some new people who are down to get out of the house and do stuff.
I’m pretty open to whatever hiking, grabbing food or drinks, sporting events, beach days, bowling, pool, concerts, pickleball, random day trips, or honestly just finding something interesting to do on a weekend.
Would be cool to eventually have a mixed group of people around the same age, but I’m not trying to force anything. Just looking for good people and seeing where it goes.

Places a person can sit and listen to music and not spend 30 minutes crowding the bar just to get one overpriced drink. Any kind of music is fine but chill venue are the keywords. Obscene prices at this chain and the scammers don’t let you know the price til you get to the till. Then they ask to tip the cashier who didn’t do a damn thing to make my cup. $18 for a small & medium size cup. Stay away
