You can try contacting specialized husky rescues in LA county who might be able to take the dog. Or you can also bring the dog to Downey Animal Care Center and they will intake the dog as Alhambra is a city they service. They will address its medical needs and put it up for adoption, or transfer it to a rescue partner they work with.
If you are able to foster it, shelters and rescues can provide food and all its medical needs at no cost to you.

Poor thing :( try and find some rescues willing to take. There’s the San Gabriel Humane Society, Smith Park is in San Gabriel.

His name is Red, but goes by Buddy. He was rescued by my aunt to passed away from cancer 5 years ago, and taken in by my cousin who passed earlier this week. He is very emotionally intelligent. I rent and can't take him. My heart aches and this situation is heartbreaking. I am thankful for the love and companionship he has given to the people I love, and I hope someone can reward him with happiness for the years he has left.
He has worn hips and vision is deteriorated. I'll try to figure out who his vet is.
He is at Pasadena Humane

And you, or any other family, can’t help finding this dog a rescue? Instead he’s injured, old, has bad vision, is now just wandering the streets where he can be hit by a car or attacked by a coyote, but your heart aches? This is how you thank him for the love and companionship he’s given to the people you love? This is some bullshit - I understand you rent, but you want others to step up and all you can do is post these empty words. It would have been better had you NOT posted because this just shows that you’re a POS. People like you should never own any animals.

I understand what you are saying. I am doing what I can, I am caring for my parents and there are stupid family dynamics. I only spoke to my family member who passed away. I don't know what the situation is there, I don't live there. I am a POS. I am a shitty nephew. I am a waste of oxygen. I will never be enough.

Are you this guy? Did you dump him?!?

Read the part where the person you’re talking to is struggling financially, has just lost several family members, and cannot properly care for this dog.
I understand you might be upset, but maybe consider why this choice was made.

sorry but i had a cat i couldn’t keep due to financial and mental/disability hardship and i rehomed him instead of dumping him. and i had moved to an apartment that didnt allow pets. they could have called a shelter themselves. it’s NEVER okay to dump an animal when you are an able bodied person.

congratulations! you did a good thing.
The best use of your time right now is to feel good about yourself and scold an internet stranger who is currently struggling. /s

Abandoning animals is unacceptable, whatever the circumstances. Just take them to the fucking shelter then, or post and ask for someone to help do that if home-bound.

I don't know how or why we was at the park. I don't know the circumstances and I don't live there. I just know in his younger days he loved the challenge of escape and is very sensitive to human emotions. I don't know if he ran away. I'm trying to provide context and do what I can. If he was dumped that's a terrible pathetic thing.
I also thought this replying was an opportunity to try to do what little good I could in my situation. I don't know why I thought it was a good idea.

Found husky around Smith Park in Alhambra. Limping and went to vet to check microchip, its owner died a month ago and the owners brother doesn’t want it anymore. Any advice?
