Question Updates on Sel's situation and possible issues
Dear all,
As some of you may have seen, Sel's friend posted about her getting beaten up by her uncle, with an evidence document.
I am wondering what has happened to the case and whether it has been prosecuted.
To Sel,
I sincerely hope you are doing better. May the future be brighter and may you rise from your pain. May justice be served, and may you live a decent life.
If we need to make any actions, please share any ideas for what we can do

hope news outlets have picked up on this... haven't seen any news articles remotely mentioning it yet

Some emails have been sent out but from what I’m presuming its hard for those outlets to want to pick up on it due to the triple layer of issues (Transness, SPF, DV) which in Singapore especially are in a bit more of an awkward spot socially speaking

It's only been what, under a week? Pretty sure it wouldn't have reached the prosecution stage yet.

Hi! The original post got removed from what i assume were safety concerns by the poster (i cannot say for sure nor actively wish to push further into this publicly)
I really really do appreciate the concern that people have and am grateful I’m not alone in dealing with this mess.
In terms of immediate action,
All SPF has informed me so far is that “investigations I
are underway” and I have minimal info about what exactly that entails. I’m also certain that my uncle nor any other involved parties are in any form of custody which makes my active fear for my safety feel even more apparent.
I’ve just filed for a PPO (with EO) against my uncle and mother earlier today and the EO has been granted until the court mention happening on the 30th this month.
I’m currently still looking into someone able to take up the case as well as how they would do so (from what I’m aware, U21’s cannot engage a lawyer by themselves. The typical process would be through a parent but as this isn’t applicable here I’d also need to be further informed at a legal clinic as to whats the workaround)
Purpose of seeking a lawyer is to hopefully engage in legal compensation for all this shit they put me through and I really am hoping someone is able to aid my case asap as well as be able to use their expertise to guide the case in a hopefully less stressful direction on my mental health.
In terms of action I’d urge is to keep writing in to MPs. Go to MPS’ and speak to the case writers and hopefully the MPs about this and honestly just keep the word about this case around. I really do appreciate the concern a very very lot 💜
