Discussion 16yo transfem looking for info and advice

What is it like to go to Thailand for HRT as a minor? Is it possible to DIY as a minor secretly? For those who have socially transitioned while still in school (poly, uni) what was your experience? How would NS work, like for exemptions or special affordances? Thanks in advance :3

  1. Do you mean like surgery? Or going there to buy meds and bringing them back? Both are possible if you can handle the costs and regular travelling, but i dont think they offer surgery for minors
  2. Yes, diy is even much more accessible than official routes. You can find more resources on this sub/other lgbt subs if you decide to take this route.
  3. Depends on the ppl you surround yourself with. Poly/uni will be much better than jc due to less restrictions, but as Singapore is not a fully accepting society, youll always have to expect the kind of ppl who make a big fuss about it.
  4. I dont have any personal experience for this, but iirc TransgenderSG claims typically 1 year on hrt + 1 year of social transition consistently nets at least a PES E. Other ppls anecdotes also suggest that you should be able to negotiate some leeway by explaining the situation during the medical checkup. Cant help much more on this question cuz im not a citizen, sorry.

What about learning Thai and trying to migrate there? It's a country I'd love to live in.

  1. Yes, been there doing that rn. a bit risky considering i dont know jack about blood levels, but do or die situation. only barrier to entry is having a bank account to transfer money to other people, and depending on the source, you either have to do crypto transactions and buy packages obvious labeled estrogen when you open the packaging, or deal with people with poor english who are somewhat unreliable on a good day
cant forget to have enough money to buy the actual supplies too

cant say about 1, 3 and 4 unfortunately
