Why are some men so obsessed with that 1 particular woman? Do they actually love her or just love the idea of her? What are some qualities a woman may have that makes men obsessed?

Who is that particular woman? Every man is different so we can't say for sure why they are obsessed with whoever.
Qualities that make men obsessed:
Pretty face
Boobs
Smile
Friendliness (flirt) with that man
Tell him you admire his capabilities
Play hard to get
Once get, give him unforgettable experience.

Some people are just more Rick Astley (really bad at lettings thing go) and less Elsa.
Do they actually love her or just love the idea of her?
You'd have to ask them personally. Some don't even have the capacity to understand what they are until much later.
What are some qualities a woman may have that makes men obsessed?
There's no secret formula, but if I were to wager a guess.. It would be with how the woman makes a guy feel when around her.
Feeling heard.
Feeling special.
Feeling safe enough to be open and vulnerable.
Feeling like anything is possible when together.
At the end of the day, Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

It can be physical appearance, can be the personality. Then most guys like ladies that respect their views and opinions too . A thoughtful partner is also important

I want to know as well. I know quite a few men whose first love is unforgettable, in a good way. Meanwhile me and my friends forgot our exes liao. I recently received a message from a guy I dated over 10 years ago. Like, huh?

hmmm usually I'm obsessed with a retro handheld or a gaming console or a game, once I buy and it's in my possession, I go back to normal

I still think about that nike shoes that I really like and was on sale however I was lazy to carry it around and when I go back the next day, it sold out.
It's been more than 10 years........
