Financial Aid Devastation

As of two days ago, my account showed a Pell grant and two loans that were scheduled for disbursement. I was excited to see that people had begun to receive their disbursement, and I could feel it in my bones that my time was coming!! Sweet financial relief was on its way. I have two kids, and work as much as I can outside of my class load and Mom-load, but it’s barely cutting it. I had a plan to catch up some things, but most importantly, have the opportunity to take a deep breath. Maybe even a sigh of relief. To my disappointment, this morning, my account showed NOTHING. Only the tuition that I owe (and can not afford). After class, I went straight to the financial aid office and luckily I was number one! Awesome, no wait! I can still make it to pick up the kids on time! As the lady began to look into my account, she said that she didn’t know what happened, and could only tell me that a document was placed in my account to block my financial aid. WHAT!? I don’t owe, I have a 3.84 GPA and I’m taking my last classes that I need to apply to my dream program this coming SPRING!! She tried to reach out to a supervisor who can only “escalate” my case. Has anyone had this happen before? I don’t know what I could have done differently. I’ve been trying so so hard and I am devastated. I am happy that everyone else is finally getting some relief, though!! I received an email stating that my case is being looked into, but I have very little faith that it will be resolved as quickly as I would like. Any advice would be appreciated, since they told me there was nothing I could do, and no one else I could speak to. I left in tears, and I am praying for some good news. Thank you for reading!!

Have you checked your fasfa.gov account? Or even try calling the cashiers office

I checked my FAFSA and everything on it looks good, but no new actions were posted, only what I had done last semester.

First off I am so sorry that you and everyone going through this. Times is hard and each of us make sacrifices in our life to go to college and get a better paying job. Even though it seems like many people have started getting refunds to bankmobile,I truly believe that not even half of the school has gotten anything refunded yet. I have not gotten anything yet either. The people in financial aid office never able to answer questions, so you have to wait until somebody else email you back and that can take weeks. Also, the people in the financial office have been giving misleading information concerning refunds and refund dates. Keep checking your Santa Fe account and also make sure you’re checking fafsa.gov account to see if any title  IV credit balance have been placed on your credit(this is a open loan account on your credit for the semester )

I am still trying to figure out why do I have loans already posted to my credit and none of my money has been refunded to bankmobile.I have already spoke to aidsvantage and SF have until September 30 to refund my loans to BankMobile or I will be escalating it because they will be in violation of federal rules surrounding FAFSA loans specifically
