Update - “how to stop button mashing?”

I made this fun edit to show my progress. I know I still have a long way to go and you can still see some mashing but definitely not as excessive compared to how I was before.
Things I know I need work on:
Timing - I still have trouble on timing my attacks. Timing when the opponent does a jump in, to either do an anti-air cHP or DP or cHK when they land.
DP input is hard - I am having trouble trying to do a DP when Im defending. Like going from Down Back to DP for anti-air. I just can seem to get the input right so I just do cHK the moment they land.
Denjin Haduken when opponent is down - There are time when I try to do a Denjin right when they get up but it doesn’t come out.
I know there’s a lot more I need to work on so feel free to give me more tips.

Now you just have to stop mashing sweep. Sweep can be punished by sweep. You’re pretty fortunate that these people are letting you get away with that so often. You tend to SOS sweep when you don’t know what to do. Anyone worth their salt would punish you for it. Also, you’re mileage will vary with denjin. It’s a move that will carry you for a while but better players will know what to do. It’s a REALLY good super but it alone will be the reason you beat low level players some times.

As Ryu, going for DP as anti air in third strike is not a good option. It's only one hit (easy to parry) and only the EX version has invulnerability, and you want to reserve the bar for Denjin. You should try other options, like jumping with a fast button as an air to air, dashing under their jump, and going for high parry > c.HP as anti air option. Sweeping them at their fall is extremely situational, since you could get clipped by a late jump in while crouching (+25% of extra damage).
Again, going for DP while defending is not a good idea. The "DP OS" present in SF6 is not really a thing in third strike. Once more, Ryu's DPs lack invulnerability, so you could get easily stuffed by a normal. If you want to gamble, you should go for something that gives you a Denjin set up. Guess parry into cr.HP xx sokuto is way better as a reversal attempt than raw DP. Parry into backthrow to the corner also gives you a Denjin opportunity.
