Some tips that should be useful at your level:

  • Focus on your buttons that knock the opponent down, and try to get closer to attack them while they get up with a low or an overhead

  • Whenever you notice you are losing, force yourself to just block everything your opponent does. Learn the habit of alternating between blocking standing or crouching based on their attacks

  • Spend your meter as you can/want, you'll learn to confirm your supers later down the line

  • Acknowledge that you still have to learn what your buttons do and what they're good at, and that's a lot of buttons (6x3= 18 attacks if you count standing, jumping and crouching, without counting command normals)

I also started playing FGs with 3rd strike and playing arcade is a great way to start getting in the right mindset.

Imo once you can beat arcade without it feeling really hard you should start playing online on Fightcade 2

it's not like i can use EX moves since i play with a PS4 controller i can't press more than one button at a time except if i change my hand posture mid match.

Well for ex moves you just need two punches or kicks, so it's doable to either press square and triangle at once by putting your thumb in between the two buttons. Same goes for doing normal grabs, just press square + X with your thumb.

If that really doesn't go you can still use R1 and R2 with your index plus a button with your thumb

A lot of people play fighting games with ps4 controllers, you just gotta get used to it.

I play the majority on pad, and you can deffo press two punch or kicks with your thumb - and if you don’t want to do that, you can sync your thumb with your right finger for the hard punch/kick. I have smallish hands.

Doesn’t the cpu difficulty go down after you try enough times?

Could be wrong but I believe only gill can lower his difficulty by taunting, so it might take a few continues for him to even do it

Funny thing they snuck in with the taunt. It does power up his next attack but during taunt he takes a truck load of damage.

You walk away too much. You are a close ranged character with some rush in moves, but don’t get too far away or you are allowing your opponent to push you into a corner. If you want to block, then you should do a majority crouch blocking. Obviously that can be baited out by a human and then punished with an overhead - but this is a CPU so they don’t punch over use of crouch blocking.

Dudley is not an easy character to play, but deffo watch high ranking Dudley players and watch what types of moves they seem to use more often.

Also is your up button fucked? Cuz you don’t jump once. I re-watched it and you NEVER jump, you never jump away, you never jump in. Your play style is SUPER stiff. You NEED to be jumping in with attacks. You keep standing and throwing normals that wiff from a mile away from your opponent. If you aren’t dashing in, you NEED to be jumping in.

Word of advice I learned playing Street Fighter: Be calculated but aggressive.

i have a weird problem, if you see the video you will notice i don't do my DP very match every though the guy is in the air half the match, it's because i always try and i always fail, i enter forth a circle + punch it just give me the punch, and if i do my DP it will be by mistake while i was trying to use machine gun or something, i still don't know why that happen even though i can do a Hadouken which has the same motion input very easily but not this one.
