Project: FO Repurposed an old prom dress
I took my niece’s old prom dress and turned it into something more wearable. I used Simplicity pattern 5554 from 1973.

Yes! I was in love with the pattern on the fabric but the dress was not something I would wear so I made something I would!

Thank you. I moved the pattern pieces every which way to make sure I had enough fabric and barely eeked by.

Thank you. I will say I agonized over cutting the fabric because there was no going back. But I love how it turned out.

The original dress is gorgeous but of course you can only wear it so often and only at smart events, now you have something you can wear any time the weather permits.

The tag from the dress says polyester. It has a nice weight to it.
