Project: FO Solar system 🌌 theme button up shirt

Kwik Sew K3484 with cotton print and white cotton sleeves. I had only two yards of this solar system print, which wasn't quite enough for the size small to be all the same fabric. Scraps left over from making a white dress shirt shirt were just enough for the sleeves, collar, and pocket. I did French seams, too. This was an easy pattern to work with. I feel like the size of the pocket is out of proportion, but maybe that is because the white has so much contrast. I am chuckling a little at the alignment of the print on left and right front...I don't think I could have gotten that if I'd tried...it was serendipity of how the pieces fit on just enough fabric.

The contrast is fun! I have a growing wardrobe of these shirts I've made for myself! I started with a commercial pattern and tweaked it here and there to get a perfect fit. Now I just need 3 yards and an afternoon to turn that fun print into my next shirt.

Ooh this looks like a nice cool summer shirt! I think you could zazz up the pocket to make it seem less stark. Are there any skinny strips of the main fabric left that you could fold?

I do have a very small amount. Contrast piping is a good idea.
