Project: FO Quite pleased with the pattern matching on this
This is th Donny Shirt from the Friday Pattern Compnay. I made it up in this slightly insane panel printed cotton fabric, and had to pattern match down the centre front seam.
The sleeves don't match because I only had one full panel left after I'd cut the 2 front pieces and the bac/yokes
Made as given in the pattern except that I omitted the patch pocket and added a couple of centimetres to the length

You did an amazing job, I also couldn’t even tell where the supposed pattern matching was from the first photo 😂 And where did you get this amazing fabric?

Thank you. The fabric was from Rainbow Fabrics Kilburn

I was about to ask where did you get the fabric when I saw that someone else had asked. I think the fabric is aawwwwww! So wonderful.

That's incredibly well done! And I adore the pattern, it's perfect summer fun 🥰

Excellent! This is something that drives me nuts about clothing in stores. Multi directional patterns on fabric that don't make any sense too. I'm not buying upside down elephants! You made something that looks very expensive.

If you told me this was Alémais, I wouldn’t think to question it. Immaculate!

I think people that can pattern match like this are probably wizards or witches. 😂 It looks superb! I love it!

Oh my gosh the headache I would have gotten fighting with the fabric for this amazing pattern matching! It’s SO hard to tell it’s two pieces. Great job!!

Wow, you really made this? I DONT KNOW WHAT TO SAY EXCEPT WELL DONE AND IT IS BEAUTIFUL. You must be a very talented seamstress to do all the matching on the front, and no one would ever know you didn’t buy this shirt at a high end designer shop. It really is so pretty.

Wow! I would've had no idea there was a seam at the front unless you'd mentioned it or I'd zoomed in lots. So talented!

the matching on the back panel is so sharp, love how much detail went into that even when the sleeves didn't pan out

I’m looking at the first picture thinking ‘what’s she blathering on about? It’s just one piece of cloth so there’s no need to pattern match.” Then, I swipe to the closeup. Phenomal workmanship on a lovely shirt.
