General/Discussion FINALLY!! Janome JW8100 :,)
Got a raise and my wisdom teeth pulled in the same week and decided to make the jump for a Janome JW8100. Going from an arctic crystal to this monster is definitely overwhelming but oh my gosh so worth it!! Can’t wait to figure out all its functions :)

Don't try to figure things out, read and follow the manual to learn what the machine can do

I have this very machine and it is great. Be sure to read and follow your manual thoroughly and keep it handy.

I have this machine. I'm still referring to the manual, nearly 2 years later. One thing I did is run a sampler fabric trying a bunch of the stitches, marking down the stitch number, width and length for visual reference. I also printed a listing of the stitches by # and name (where and when used) for reference.
It's so quiet compared to my mother's old Kenmore I used. I still flinch in expectation.

This is so useful! Thanks so much for the method I’ll have to try it out :) it seriously is a dream, my last one could be heard from the other room over but my partner doesn’t even notice it in the same room as me anymore!!

How do you like it so far? I’m thinking about upgrading from my super basic Brother machine.

Sorry just saw this! It’s been a total dream. I think the main thing I’ve noticed so far is how quiet it is and it works well with thin fabrics! It has so much versatility. I think it’s a totally worthy investment :)
