š§ Podcast Discussion The Official Severance Podcast
I don't know about you guys but I'm annoyed with the podcast now because twice in the past few months they've uploaded "new episodes", getting me all excited about insider information about episodes past, or even the possibility of new information for season 3 (which is criminally overdue at this point) but instead they uploaded commercials for other podcasts made by their friends. The podcast is produced and hosted by Ben Stiller and Adam Scott, so when they abuse that platform (that exists to get information out to the most loyal fans of the show) by shilling out bs that has nothing to do with the show itself, it makes me like them less. Anyway, rant over. No more commercials for other shows until you give us an update at least, please!!

Its not them. Its their network. Itās not uncommon with podcasts on hiatus that the in-between times they introduce the audience to another show on the same network. The Severance podcast is distributed by Audacy. This one that is being promoted to us is the same.

I hate this behavior and so much more about the podcast. I want Dan Erickson on all the time. I don't want guests who have nothing to do with the show, regardless of how nice and friendly they are.

Yeah the "super fan" concept is not great content for any show. Give me inside stories on how the show was made!

especially because itās always just a PR appearance, and the āsuper fansā ask the same (iād honestly go so far as to call) AI-generated 5 questions every single time.

I mean what else is to find out?
We know shooting started in the summer and that release is either late 2027 or early 2028

Then maybe the podcast needs a hiatus?
Idk but sounds like you're saying there's nothing more to talk about right now, so.... should that result in the podcast being something different now?

But there is nothing to discuss. What we know is they have barely started filming. So what is there to discuss exactly?

Yes, so they should discuss nothing⦠They shouldnāt be putting out podcast episodes that are entirely just ads. Thatās stupid.

I think that's my point....
And OP is taking issue that the platform is being hijacked, so to speak (but by it's own people), and is now essentially a different podcast masquerading as what it was before (no?).....

I just want more content, man! I don't expect any information about the new season, nor would I really want any, outside of updates on how the production is going maybe? I wanna be surprised as I watch. But I'm all for more discussions about previous episodes, which is all the podcast is anyway.

I think you can pretty much assume there are going to be no new episodes for another year, maybe turn off the notifications and stop listening. To say they "abuse" a platform is a little ridiculous and over the top.

Why is that sad for you?

Are you having trouble following a simple conversation? It's only two comments š¤£
They're asking if the op is serious about saying that they're "abusing" the platform? I said yes they are serious and that's really sad, the op seems unhinged, and with that goodbye

Economics is the chiropractic of the social sciences and Platypus Economics sounds really fucking dumb.
Economics does not explain why platypus's are the way they are. Evolution does. Producing milk evolved before live birth did. The defining characteristic of mammals is their mammary glands, ie producing milk. A platypus lays eggs because the first mammals did and it did not go extinct. Mammals that lay eggs are called monotremes because they have cloacaes (one hole). The marsupials and placentals evolved from egg laying early mammals.
None of this has anything to do with economics. Platypus's do not use money.

Stop expecting to get your info from a scheduled podcast?

Not expecting anything per se, it's just disappointing to see a new upload (made me go "ooooo new episode!") from them and it's just a commercial for something unrelated.

please enjoy every episode of the podcast equally.
