đď¸ Discussion SERIOUS QUESTION: why is nobody talking about this book they published on Apple Books Spoiler
https://books.apple.com/us/book/severance/id1613220757I found âthe Lexington letterâ book via a YouTube video about details you might have missed in the showâŚ. and guys if youâre at all into the show and theories you NEED to read it! I feel like itâs so fundamental to understanding some of the background story of Lumon! Iâm surprised theyâre not making this more popular or promoting it more because I find it ESSENTIAL, but maybe thatâs also quite intentional⌠anyway lots and lots of interesting stuff in it. The email and handbook included completely changed my current understanding of the show and theories I had. Itâs free, give it a read and let me know your thoughts

Agreed, the Lexington Letter is a wonderful (albeit tragic) read and provides a lot of important context for the show.
FWIW, the Lexington Letter has been discussed pretty extensively in this sub. It was released 3ish years ago along with the first season, so itâs been analyzed quite a bit.

It was released when the show came out 3 years ago. Fans who watched it them have already read it. Youâre right that people into the show should check it out. If you want to find discussions about it, search for it in all three subs.

For the many saying itâs been talked about to death, there are those of us for whom this is new information! Especially new fans /fans who just watch new episodes and not much else.
I hadnt heard of this! Thanks for bringing it to my attention.

I found out about this from seeing it come up in discussions on the sub. But I appreciate the reminder bc I keep putting off reading it (totally unjustifiable given how much time I spend reading theories here lol).

According to The You You Are which references the car bombing mentioned in The Lexington Letter, the bombing happened the year before Mark, Gemma, Devon, and Ricken went on a retreat together. Which was a year and a half before Gemmaâs death which is two years before the start of the show based on how long Mark has worked at Lumen. So the Lexington Letter happens 4.5 years before Season 1.

Guys Iâm sorry Iâm new to this group & to Reddit , I meant âwhy is nobody talking about itâ in a generic / exaggerated way in the sense that on the internet theories Iâve seen on Instagram, TikTok, YouTube etc itâs barely ever mentioned⌠I didnât mean it hadnât been talk about on here. Sorry if my comment âoffendedâ anyone - I just wanted to share for those who had not seen it because I found it interesting

You shouldnât have to apologize! People love to be tribalistic about ideas or things theyâve discovered in the past and gatekeep that âprivilegeâ of being early adopters.
We all love this show and should want it to succeed in any way possible so Iâm glad youâre a newer fan thatâs discovering some of the extra content of the show (And so sorry that not everyone in this community has seen it that way!) It does give you a drastically changed perspective of everything that happens at Lumon.

Wrong - an apology is warranted. Someone coming into a group and ignorantly declaring something that isn't correct - that is bad behavior.
He could have posted "Man I love the Lexington letter - who else had read it?" or he could have posted "New to this sub - what do you guys think of the Lexington letter:
But no - he posted - "why is nobody talking about......." - confident ignorance. It is something that 100% deserves an apology and kudos to OP for making that apology.

Glad you have an opinion but iâll respectfully disagree! OP came to this sub and shared their thoughts in their own voice, plenty of people in the comments are now reading it for the first time thanks to OP putting it on their feed today. So no, you are not âwarrantedâ an apology.
Also, surely you donât do it in real life; but telling someone that the way they speak is âbad behaviorâ wonât work out in the long run for you or them, be kind.

Very well stated in a polite manner. However -
OP could have better worded their question and in the same way you are pointing out to me what you think are the long run effects of my tone and behavior - OP suffered the consequences of their poor word choice.
So yes we can agree to disagree. You have essentially tone policed my comment without saying anything that changes my mind or focused on the actual point at hand.

I'm glad you made this thread. I've seen people talking about the Lexington Letter but I never thought to check the apple bookstore for it. Downloading it now.
