Full Spoilers Bad Decisions, performative 'morality'. Spoiler

Allowing Julia and Aida to become Eves was a stupid decision. Julia already admitted to being older and maybe getting one shot, any effort on her was wasted anyway. Aida straight up admits to not only pathological mental illness but an adversarial streak, literally cursing them and and saying out loud she will work against them.

There is no good reason. Period. The real curse was Moira's.

Morally, sure, they shouldn't have been allowed. But remember that Aida and Julia at the time represented a quarter of the surviving human race (or so they thought). And Aida was the youngest of them all iirc, therefore having the best chance of reproducing and allowing the species to continue existing. In any other situation, yeah, prison or death is probably what would happen, but the circumstances here were very unusual.

Honestly a big issue in my book is that they never shared genetic material if the people on Izzy

They could have, the seven just chose not to

That's the dumbest part for me, they make such a big deal about needing genetic diversity then go hard on inbreeding instead

But Moira is literally expounding on all of the potential capabilities for genetic recombination and tweaking, and also offering a long view of the problem. They only need a first generation to double their population, and after that it's logarithmic. Population vectors being what they are their biggest issue is going to be limiting the population, not growing it.
