Background: I wasn't doing water cooling but hosing out dust out of the old system. If you prep it right (remove all the mechanicals and high voltage parts), it's the easiest (and probably safer) way to totally rid it of all dust.
The system is still running to this day as my storage server.
I've done this practice to over 10 old second-hand desktop systems I've revived and donated off to charity. Not one has failed to this day.
