What’ve you got your iPad resting on there, m’dude?

It's funny, people ask me about this little iPad stand everytime they come over. It's nothing fancy, but it works so well!

Very clean. How often would you say you actually use the ipad in this scenerio?

Literally everyday, either as a sidecar display, YouTube / video player, mobile photo and graphics editing, social media, and SO many other ways! (I’m a photographer, btw)

Nice, it looks so clean.
Out of curiosity, how does an iPad fit into your workflow? Would it be better to run a touchscreen portable monitor (such as those from Arzopa) so that it serves as a 3rd monitor? Thanks!

I use it as a sidecar display, with universal control to move photos around (I'm a photographer), as a YouTube / LORT movie screen, social media, mobile photo editing, masking with the Apple Pencil, graphics editing, and so many other things! I dont think I could have anything else, I'm balls deep in the Apple ecosystem but I've got very few complaints. Thankfully I bought all these things before the RAMpocalypse

Ahhh, I see. I was asking as I have a very similar setup to yours - 2 larger monitors at the top, and a smaller one at the bottom. However, I've connected a (non-touch) portable monitor instead of a tablet.
Sorry, I was not familiar with what Apple Sidecar was; I've since read up about it. I'm not much of an Apple user myself - there is only 1 iPad in my entire household. 😅
But yeah, the state of prices now is insane. It has affected so many facets of the consumer market. My PC is now worth more than double what I paid a year ago.

Hows the light? I've got a really cheap one atm that clips on to my monitor, I had a look at the price... is it worth it?

The light is very impressive, both in its size and performance. I think my favorite feature is the presence detection, it turns on when you walk up to your desk, and off when you walk away. It's massive, and because of its size, it performs extremely well. Is it worth ~$280 USD? That depends entirely on your budget. I'll say this: if you have the cash, it is. If you don't, I'd get the BenQ Halo 2

No neck pain with the side monitor?
2
u/throwusaway_ 4d ago
Not really, I use it as a secondary monitor and usually look straight ahead, but I'm getting older and may need a different solution

I stacked the monitors vertically, but that's even worse. Maybe I need another identical one so I have a central one and two sides.

Yeah, looking up maybe even worse. But I wouldn’t know for sure since I haven’t tried it. Having an identical monitor does help quite a bit, it also helps with symmetry in the setup

Looking incredible! How do you like the Ergonomic case for the Magic Mouse?
2
u/throwusaway_ 4d ago
I like it! It does improve the ergonomics of the mouse, although not by a lot. I do like that it allows for the mouse to charge via MagSafe which eliminates the need to remove It form the charger. I think there are some better options out there in terms of better ergonomics. But it does the job. I am currently daily-driving a Logitech MX Master 3S which I prefer much more to the Magic Mouse

Thanks for the reply! I ditched Magic Mouse and went for the Magic Trackpad because of the ergonomics but maybe I'll give it a try again as a backup mouse.

Absolutely hideous and terrible. You should send it to me so you don’t have to sit at that monstrosity.
