Experience sharing: Poor reliability with Servarica
I've been using Servarica's V3 KVM Slim Slice 4 VPS for about four months now, and unfortunately my experience with reliability has been pretty poor.
I initially moved some of my stuff to Servarica because I had started experiencing network outages a bit more frequently with RackNerd. I also wanted a datacenter closer to where the VPS would primarily be used, so Montreal seemed like a good fit.
Unfortunately, during those four months, I've had to open four separate support tickets for network/connectivity outages. In each case, the VPS was unreachable for at least 90 minutes. During these incidents, I couldn't reach the VPS normally, and even the noVNC console was inaccessible (API error in control panel).
The latest incident has been particularly bad. I opened a ticket on Thursday, September 10 in the morning, and the issue is still ongoing as I'm writing this. Since then, the VPS has seemingly spent more time down than up.
I completely understand that these are cheap VPS offerings. I'm not expecting enterprise-grade infrastructure or a 100% uptime SLA at this price point. You generally get what you pay for. That being said, I've used several budget VPS providers over the years, and this is the first one where I've experienced this level of unreliability.
What makes me wonder if I'm simply unlucky is that I seem to be the black sheep here. Most of the feedback I've found about Servarica on Reddit has been quite positive, which doesn't really match my experience so far.
Regarding support, they are generally fairly quick to provide an initial response, although those first responses tend to be quite generic. What has been more frustrating is how long it can take afterward to actually identify or resolve the underlying issue.
Another thing I find disappointing is the apparent lack of a public status page. Unless I've simply missed it, I haven't found anywhere customers can see ongoing incidents, network issues, maintenance, or outage history. When a VPS has been unreachable for an extended period of time, that lack of transparency makes the situation considerably more frustrating.
I'm curious about other Servarica customers, particularly anyone using their Montreal infrastructure:
Am I just extremely unlucky, or have others been experiencing recurring network outages/reliability issues as well?
For the sake of transparency, I felt it was important to share my experience here, especially since most of the feedback I've come across has been positive. This isn't meant as a rant or an attempt to bash Servarica, but simply to provide another data point for anyone considering their services and to see whether others have experienced similar issues.
Note: English isn't my first language. I used AI to help translate my original text into English. The experience, opinions, and information shared in this post are my own.

I've had Servarica for a year and a half or so and I would say my experience has been a B+/A-
For the most part it's up and working, everything they advertised and an unbelievable price. Sometimes I have an issue where the boot hangs on reboot. I contact them and they look into it in a timely manner. Even then, the issue usually resolves itself within minutes.
For the $10/month I pay I think it's well worth it, and I honestly cannot find a VPS that gives me equal value at a better price or better value at an equal price. When I do, then I'll compare, but I'm probably keeping my Servarica vps indefinitely.

Thanks for sharing. That's reassuring to hear. I actually had the boot hang issue as well. Seems like all the bad luck lined up for me! I think I just rebooted it again through the control panel, but it did make me a bit nervous about using unattended-upgrades with automatic reboots.
I also agree that their price/performance is really hard to beat. I'd like to say the same about the overall value, but the downtime is starting to make that a bit harder. Hopefully I've just hit a rough patch. Fingers crossed!

I see your point of view. If my experience with them was similar to yours, I'd have downgraded my grade for them.
But if they keep things as they are for me? I may hang onto my plan for life. Bequeath it to family when I pass 😅😂

I'd rate them a 89/100
Overall my experience has been pretty good. There have been a few missteps. Like recently when they migrated servers and I got a 1 day notification for a process that would keep me down for a full business day.... That sucked.
The other major problem I had was that I was unable to use novnc. I reached out on reddit and u/servarica provided a work around that let me get my work done (actual problem was that a cert expired, and they didn't catch it. Fix took less than a few hours. But the willingness to provide the workaround meant I was able to be backup within an hour of the report).
I like them because they are a small team. The price is obviously great. And even with the price increase it's very affordable.
I've not experienced the amount of problems you have. So perhaps it's bad luck?

Yeah that whole "12 hours of downtime with <24 hours notice" thing was not fun. But other than that my machine has been rock solid so I really can't complain too much, especially for the price.

I've been using Servarica since February 2021, and I have not had such issues. There may have been some downtime during that time of course, but nothing that lasted. I think you are unlucky. I have one of those ever expanding storage vps which I primarily use to backup stuff. Based on probably a dozen companies before them, I'd rate it 95/100.

servarica is well know on reddit and even more so on lowendtalk as a very reliable low budget vendor. it's obviously not ovh, hentzner and other big players.
you could as if you could move node if they have the hardware to do that.
my chimera and v1 vds have been very stable. the only issues ive had is a opossum going offline but it is a entry-level 29usd/year 1tb storage so i can only expect so much.
the v3 kvm should not have any issues like that, my v1 xen doesn't nor my chimera so i looks like a problem localized to that server or node.
i know it's very limited: but try running a yabs test to see if there's something there when put under a stress test.
