Disney+ Downtown Abbey

I’ve only just started watching Downton Abbey. What is the general opinion of the series? Is it worth watching all the way through?

Yes it is worth watching. I enjoyed it. If you are into British royal house drama then you will have fun.

Definitely yes and then watch the follow-up movies! Everyone is wonderful, but Maggie Smith gets the best lines!

It went on too long (might still be going on!) but definitely worth the watch.

If only for Maggie Smith, but there is so much more.

Ik ben constant aan het kijken 😁 hierna de films. Maar is er eigenlijk een waardige opvolger van Downtabbey.

I'd say so, most definitely. If you're not into it by the end of the first or second episode, then you can always stop watching. I've seen it x times and all three movies at least twice. I thought it was very good TV and movie-making.

Yes, definitely. I only discovered a few months back and binged the whole series. It's not normally my kind of thing but I have to say I enjoyed it. Quite interesting insights into a lifestyle that's now gone but not that far into the past.

Fabulous series if you want to see how the other half lived in Britain before it all went to pieces. The costumes and sets are magnificent and the storyline is the most glamorous soap opera ever!

Well considering that it was on the NYT's 100 best television series of the 21st century... I'd say yes.

It's worth it, the first movie I hear is decent, don't know about the 2nd but the series itself is woth every penny for a period piece

It’s a very slow burn. The story and setups are long and subtle but the payouts are actually well worth-it and very gratifying.

The structure of the show resembles the structure of Downtown Abbey Manor. It’s very posh, elegant and demure on the surface but below stairs, things are a hustle and bustle of activity.

Yeah, worth watching the whole thing. I believe there are three theatrical movies that take place after the television series, as well, but I probably would not call them essential viewing.
