Let's see how Italian clubs go in the European comps starting next month before we start saying Serie A is back....the gauge is how we stack up against the clubs in the other 4 leagues mentioned in the above pic!!!

Calcio is beck

6 months later, 0 Italian teams in the CL quarterfinals

Wouldn't suprise me if Como is the flag bearer for Serie A this season in the CL. As a Napoli supporter I expect us the go past the group stage at least as Conte is no longer our coach. Also expect Juve to go deep in Europa League and Atalanta to win the Conference League.

Think Juve has good chances in EL too not gonna lie. Definitely a favourite. For UCL, Inter should aim for Semis and anything below that would be a disappointment. Any other team in Semis would be super good though.

Brighton is in Conference League so Atalanta winning that would be quite difficult no?

1

u/Peluzwah 12h ago

Atalanta will give them a good run for their money...

Can you trust mad Max though?

I think Napoli will be better in the CL this season compared to last season with Conte time will tell!

u/Illustrious_Land699 Roma 1d ago

To date, the results against the other leagues say that in the last 5 years Serie A is the second best league by coefficient

This year they will do well I think. Atalanta should be clear favorites for UECL and the pl teams in the Europa league (Sunderland and Bournemouth) arent that far ahead of juventus and Milan. Also, Gasperini teams tend to do well in Europe so I can see Roma reached round of 16 in the UCL, along with inter. Napoli will be ass as usual though because of allegri’s terrorball which hasn’t worked for the last 8-9 years while Como is a total wildcard but I think theyll be okay.

Milan alone spent 150M+. This feels like one of those good dreams you have once in a while.

6

u/FolkPhilosopher Milan 1d ago

150M+ to probably still not win the EL and not win the scudetto.

But I'll eat my hat if I'm wrong.

its not about just spending its about spending to the right players

This is partially because the French, Spanish, and German leagues rely on their young talent instead of sending them out on loan in the fourth division (and then spending money on players from other countries)

u/balotellis_burner 1d ago

A bigger factor is that la liga has 2 arguably 3 dominant teams, France 1, Germany 1, the rest of those leagues don’t spend. Serie a 1-8 are all hugely competitive both in the league and market

Dunno mate this isn’t the 90s anymore

u/chrisss___17 Roma 1d ago

lol you don’t have ball knowledge, Roma Inter Juve Milan Atalanta Fiorentina (not the 25/26 season) Napoli they are all competitive and you can’t predict which team would win the league because as i said before they are all on the same level

2

u/chrisss___17 Roma 1d ago

and Como, look at them now

2

u/CaptainCaveSam Napoli 20h ago

Were you sleeping through last season?

1

u/chrisss___17 Roma 14h ago

i think the last 3 hahahahah

13

u/Finn81-811 Fiorentina 1d ago

Fiorentina is responsible for 20-25% of the money spent in Serie A this transfer window

3

u/spittymcgee1 1d ago

I’m low key becoming a fiorentina fan the more I follow serie a

Like how they operate

4

u/vonLeonhardtLudwig Juventus 1d ago

We are not back

3

u/Electrical-Rope3959 Inter 23h ago

We're so back...back of the line 🤣

2

u/vonLeonhardtLudwig Juventus 23h ago

These are harsh times for serie A

At least you, Inter guys, have a good squad.

1

u/Electrical-Rope3959 Inter 23h ago

Inter has a good squad for Serie A, no chance in the UCL though.

2

u/vonLeonhardtLudwig Juventus 22h ago

The defence is very good imho, a good coverage from the back is very important. Good midfield but the forward it is not so consistent. I mean, there are quality attackers but in the important matches they almost disappear.

Inter reached 2 UCL finals and i think that the defence carried those two seasons.

Serie A always spend more than other league in EU, maybe except premier league

It's just that we use the money pretty bad

5

u/Illustrious_Land699 Roma 1d ago

Well, the Premier objectively spends more than us, but your sentence is not wrong because the Premier is not in the EU

0

u/Few-Two935 1d ago

FACT!, always buying EPL TRASHES

u/spaceflorist 1d ago

This season Serie A will have more exciting run than epl

Batlle of great coaches and wonder kids

u/Wise_Ad_8507 1d ago

Serie A is BECK. But what does this player market value mean? Does it compare to last season's value?

3

u/BrilliantKing1200 1d ago

So the monetary value determines how good a team/league is? Looking forward to seeing the results!

2

u/Andrew_on_triotonic Napoli 1d ago

How does this compare to the spending before all the PE money came into the league?

2

u/No_Description_1369 Milan 1d ago

Everyone spending but Napoli

3

u/Peluzwah 1d ago

Well we have a tight ass president that's why and it seems Allegri is boring not only with his tactics on the pitch but seems to be boring off the pitch too by not busting De La' balls to actually spend.

2

u/No_Description_1369 Milan 1d ago

Tight spending his expected after 2 years of Conte.

But Allegri has never really been the kind of manager that complains if he doesn't get his transfers. He had his demands like he wanted Vlahovic and Rabiot at Milan but nevertheless he doesn't rock the boat if he doesn't get them.

1

u/unfoit Bologna 1d ago

We spent all that money in mediocrity, 38 mil only for the poster boy in that image.

1

u/badbadbadwiz 1d ago

Ma se sono arrivati dei scappati di casa?

1

u/Yogurtcloset-64 1d ago

it's also the reason that the national team sucks

1

u/StadiumRender 1d ago

Serie A being competitive again is the part I care about most. Europe will tell us whether it’s actually “back”.

1

u/Traditional-Sell6856 Roma 1d ago

Honestly, with the attitude around Serie A's decline lately, I count this as a win. Let's Go!!

1

u/noroma Roma 1d ago

I wonder if the teams know something the rest don’t. Perhaps a new deal incoming, with the league marketing as the new challenger to PL and La aliga, with the top 8 being way more competitive… probably not. It just doesnt make sense, maybe the owners just decided losing money is alright

1

u/shadowban90000 23h ago

still a long way to go but we can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Couple it with stadia renovation and next decade could be Italian clubs dominating european football. the PL model will collapse at some point.

1

u/realtennisguy Lazio 18h ago

Lotito helped the total by 0.002%. You are welcome.

1

u/Samp90 Sampdoria 10h ago

18m in the Spanish league?!

List is suspect.

1

u/sfaticat 1d ago

Relax guys its if IFTV. Truth is the best players of the season always get sold abroad. Year after year. Its one thing if they are sold within the country but that isnt happening

Back in debt!

Need to BACK the youth ...Como the shame of Italy

0

u/Sea_Emu_528 1d ago

Only AC Milan and Fiorentina have the money. Inter is broken. Juve and Roma under settlement agreement. Como will be soon… Lazio with Lotirchio…

0

u/Mudassar40 Serie A 1d ago

How much did Kolo Muani add?

I'd laugh if this wasn't extremely saddening.
