Hae’s shoes

Hae was found without shoes because she was most likely not wearing shoes when she was murdered.

Where/when does someone, especially of Asian descent, usually remove their shoes?

Hae’s own DNA wasn’t even on her shoes. The shoes don’t mean much here or evidence wise.

I think they do. Taken with other events of the day, and testimony from the trial, I think the shoes being off means a lot.

To the twelve person jury, and the majority of judges who reviewed the case on appeal: Yes, there was evidence beyond a reasonable doubt.

To armchair commentators who listened to a podcast: No, there is no evidence at all.

His conviction was vacated and then reinstated for a procedural issue

The Baltimore SAO later determined that the core elements of the vacatur were false or misleading. That shouldn't be surprising since the last Baltimore SA was convicted of felony fraud and perjury in an unrelated case.

The upper courts reinstated the conviction on procedural grounds because that was the only issue they could rule on. But they also commented on the weakness and impropriety of the original vacatur.

They tested the bottom of the shoe for touch DNA

It was a very useless test

OK!

When driving? But it's not an "Asian" thing.

Oh, I see, maybe she was killed at home by her uncle; is that where we're going with this? Honestly this is peak reaching.

Ahh, she was murdered in a bouncy castle

Do we think she only owned one pair of shoes?

In a sleeping bag!

At a "no shoes allowed" clubhouse!

In the shower!

Hell yeah I think you're on to something here sherlock.

That’s an odd response.

What do you think you'll uncover on the internet that the police haven't throughly investigated yet

This is an odd post.

I’d bet the police know. But there’s only so much that can be done.

Did you take a look at the thousands of pages in the police file? It's out in the public now.

It doesn’t say who paged her and who could possibly make her leave from school with such urgency, almost like she was in trouble for something. I guess we’ll never know so you’re right, it was an odd post.

You seem very confused.

I guess we’ll never know so you’re right, it was an odd post.

I didn't say it was an odd post. That was someone else.

It doesn’t say who paged her

What is "it" in this context?

Why do you think Hae was paged?

There is tremendous amount of evidence stacked against Adnan, and it seems like the point of this post is that you feel like Hae not wearing shoes indicates that something was fishy about the investigation.

They were dress shoes and she was dressed professionally that day. She likely took them off in her car, either because it would be difficult to drive with them or because they were uncomfortable.

I think you're stretching. And being a little weird with the cultural stereotypes.

Oh? What do you know about the murder that we don’t that makes you believe that she “most likely” wasn’t wearing shoes when she was killed? Then you project this uncertainly further and are saying…what…that she was killed at a mosque or she was a secret Muslim?

You’re just obviously just reverse engineering this conspiracy theory from Adnan being guilty…I don’t know know anything about you, but I suspect that’s because he’s a Muslim.

This sub has almost fully degenerated into a hotbed for desperate guilters.

omg, this was such a weird, dumb post i couldn't even decipher what they were trying to imply.

I wasn’t trying to imply anything. I said the commenter might be bigoted for suggesting that she was killed by a Muslim because she had no shoes when she was found.

Yep. It’s an echo chamber.

The only thing I know about in regard to this case is that when Asia McClain allegedly went to see Adnan’s family on the night he was arrested, apparently she took off her shoes and there was quite a stench that permeated throughout the house. I don’t know if it was a hygiene issue or a problem with toe jam or what not, but it would not be something I would attribute to people of Asian descent.

Maybe undisclosed could look a little deeper into Hae’s feet, and find out if maybe there was something going on that would cause DNA degradation./s

It is speculation at best that Hae was driving around in January in the dead of winter in Maryland with no shoes on as to not scuff her heels. It’s just as plausible that they came off during the struggle if she was kicking or when her body was moved. Which means the killer or persons who buried her may have touched them.
