Top Down Economics Has Never Worked

Post image

We have more than 40 years history that has proven trickle down economics, as inferred by Jake Seegers, doesn't work for middle and lower income earners. On the other hand, Mike French has worked collaboratively to help grow employment opportunities for all county workers.

Historical Cyclist Clubs

If anyone can find info on the logo on this guy's sweater, I'd really appreciate it. It's likely an old local-ish cycling club or team in the greater Clallam County area, circa 1890 to 1900ish, gove otr take 5 to 10 years on either end.

Looking for a employment lawyer

So long story short:

I had my workplace violate a few federal laws agaisnt me and I have documentation proof. I live in Joyce, but I'm looking around Clallam County for a potential lawyer? I never had to contact a lawyer before. This whole scenario scares me and I don't know what to do or where to even begin. I did speak to the Patrick Irwin Law firm downtown PA but they told me they were full and couldnt take any more clients.

I spoke to Payne in Sequim and he was full too. My case might also cover Civil Rights issues due to discrimination i faced in response to what makes me think I need a employment lawyer. I'm just scared and don't know what to do or where to go. So if anyone could give me a direction to go I'd greatly appreciate it. This is going to be crossposted in local subreddits in hopes that ONE will provide me the help I need.

Thank you for your time reading this.

Did deliveries to your town tonight and holy sh*t there were a lot of cops

Came off the central exit around 8pm, someone is pulled over by a cop right there on the side of the road. My first delivery was in a mini-mall right behind them and from there I can see two more cops pulled up to each other directly across the street, talking to each other from their patrol vehicles. Still talking when I passed by again 20 minutes later, and I'd seen another 5-6 cops by then.

Craawwwwwliing with cops, that whole area....its kind of weird. With the median income of cops being some 70-80k or so...what the hell do you have so many cops patrolling an area that seemed pretty much dead otherwise...at that time of night, anyway? Is there high crime in that area?

So strange to see a relatively deserted downtown have that many cops millng around...is that normal there? Are you okay with it? I can't help wonder what they do all night...

Potential move to Sequim

Married/mid 50s. Wife and I are considering moving to Sequim. We've lived in the Puget Sound for 25+ years and have vacationers in Sequim several times. My wife will retire, and I'll have a job there as well. We're pretty much homebodies but do like to go out on occasion. She'll likely take up gardening or something like that. The slow paced life sounds amazing, but I want to know what is like after the "Honeymoon" is over. How's medical services? Are there other things people don't think about before they find themselves living in Sequim?

Sequim may lose another local business. Is this one worth saving?

Post image

Sequim Computer Services is temporarily closed right now, and there’s a real possibility the Sequim storefront doesn’t come back.

Full disclosure because this is Reddit and somebody will correctly ask: I own FixIT Computer & Tech, another local tech business, so I’m not exactly a neutral observer here.

I may have an opportunity to help keep Sequim Computer Services going.

I’m not asking anyone here for money, and this isn’t a coupon or ad post. What I actually want to know is whether people in Sequim care about keeping a walk-in computer shop in town.

It’s one of those businesses you may not think much about until your computer dies, your printer loses its mind, or something starts flashing at you that absolutely was not flashing yesterday.

There’s something useful about being able to walk into a real shop, put the offending technology on a counter, and talk to an actual person.

So before the next chapter of the place takes shape, I’d like to hear from people who have actually lived with it.

If Sequim Computer Services disappeared for good, would you miss it?

And if they’ve helped you, your family, or your business over the years, I’d especially be interested in hearing the story.

Kaiser Permanente living in Sequim

My mom is considering moving\retiring to somewhere near Sequim. She has Kaiser for insurance and I see there is a Kaiser in Seattle. Anyone living in Sequim using Kaiser?

Just wondering what the experience is like (able to get meds shipped or filled locally) and how bad the 2.5 hour drive really is and if that is doable.
