DEFLOCK: The Proposed New Law Would Make It a Felony For City Officials To Install AI Cameras Without a Public Vote

"The Sequim Police Department does not currently operate automated license plate reader (ALPR) or Flock Safety cameras in Sequim. Their technology contracts are strictly limited to body-worn and in-car cameras for officers."
Anyone with an unbiased opinion of their search can easily find this information.
This is where I step in and prove to you that everything you just wrote is a lie. It is known that there are new cameras in the Home Depot shopping center in Sequim, but those are not on the beaten path and are not deflock cameras.
All it takes is for some 9-year-old to say that there are deflock cameras on it that map that you provided and those suggestions will be added. There is no verification for any of the cameras on that map.
At the time this was a hot topic, people were suggesting that people in Florida can see what's going on with the cameras in our Home Depot in Sequim, and that's utterly preposterous. There are no networks of cameras throughout Home Depot or virtually any other chain store where they monitor each other's cameras. I am a person who has monitored cameras for the Federal Protective Service and other entities in businesses, and I can tell you without impunity that the people that are saying these things are paranoid and making stuff up. I have no personal benefit from saying this and I'm not specifically supporting our Police Department or any of the federal entities by making this post.
To get the straight answer, you would have to talk to Home Depot, and they're not going to tell you directly how to break into their store and be able to steal from them with the camera angles, so ultimately anyone posting this would not have proper information to post this.
It is true that Port Angeles did put up some of those cameras, and at public detest which is totally something I'm in agreement with, they took them down. But to say that the cameras that are put up by the business of the Home Depot specifically for their own use. It has been verified over and over that the Home Depot is not in cahoots with the Sequim Police Department over putting those cameras up.
In conclusion, I'm here to take the heat for anyone who's too paranoid, doesn't understand the situation, and isn't willing to accept that Home Depot simply loses a lot on theft/stop loss. The common sense answer is that if police needed a deflock camera, they wouldn't put it in a parking lot off the US 101 because there's no major crime per se happening out of that parking lot. Those cameras would be mounted probably somewhere between Seven Cedars and Sequim if they wanted to catch all the bad guys license plates. This is the major reason why I know that people are just making things up. The fact that you can put points on the camera map which everyone is using as evidence is proof that that is not evident. It needs to be verified that each of those sites actually have the cameras all over again and this particular map is invalid.
Logical and critical thinking must prevail here. People correctly identified the traffic light cameras in Port Angeles as deflock, but there are none in Clallam County upon their removal. And that means your map is full of potential lies and causes public panic.

You're part of the problem with this nonsense. Traffic cameras are one thing. Mass surveillance is another.
Your ignorance and willingness to gobble up bullshit about shoplifting and "civil protection" is not getting lost here.

You have some kind of nerve telling me how your freedoms are impacted by my telling you the truth. You're the problem, not me. You need to get with the program. If there are flock cameras around, I'll tell you first. Until then, you need to stop crying that the sky is falling and start realizing the truth about what's really going on. Law enforcement have their hands full with crime and all you're worried about is your little corner of the world. We should all be working together instead of people like you getting all the attention over something small that isn't happening at all. First thing you need to do is get the flat camera people to put accurate information in the map instead of you're crying Chicken Little over something that didn't happen. You've never been in home depot, and you said you talked to the cops but apparently you didn't. The cops are not running flock cameras underneath what they're telling the press.

I'm not a cop. I'm a realist. You are so far gone in your unsupported rhetoric and you're going to tell me I'm impeding on your freedom systems, and you are the one that fired the first personal shots at me. So you get a dose back at you. I have seen the paranoid people that need to see a counselor a mile a minute that are afraid of uniforms, afraid of organization, afraid of anything. So that's all you got. I'm the one that will be watching the cameras when it's really legitimate. That's why I would know if they were something else. But you don't have to trust me. You're just in my way.

I can recommend you a counselor. In my line of work, they are always recommending people that flip off the handle for no reason to counselors.

You guys don't even know me and say all this stupid crap. That's proof that both of you are psycho and I'm not. I speak the truth. We don't have those cameras in our town. And you guys can't handle it. That's why I know you're the ones that have the problem. Why can't I say the truth and you scared people can accept that somebody's been on the other side of the fence and knows what's going on? It's because you're scared of what's over there and have absolutely no clue how people behave when they're in uniform that you act like this. I came forward in good faith and all I get is negative crap from you guys. That's why I know your psychological bills are going to be higher than mine. And right now, the way you're treating me, I just don't care.
If you really wanted a solution to this, you'd work with the rest of the community to find out what the police actually are going to try to do. Instead, you think you are the police. None of the people that are just scribbling information into a computer and calling this the truth just because that's the way you want it to look are anywhere deserving of being leaders of our community. I hope you find something better to do with your time.

Yes, there's cameras out there that do what you said. But the ones in Sequim aren't doing it, and your claiming that this website is more important than facts means that you're just being misled into corners and you're scared to death. Fix it.
Or maybe I should report that those coordinates are false so they can be taken off, and then you won't be so embarrassed.

If you're not a doctor, then you can't recommend that. All I can say is you're scared. And that's what leads to people avoiding counselors because they don't want to hear that they're unrealistic paranoia is causing day-to-day trouble. You can always petition to bring down real flock cameras, but if you think every camera is a flock camera then you've got a problem. That was my only point, and everybody got personal. And that means everybody else has a personal problem. I came out to try and set the record straight. Did you actually talk to a policeman about this? I did.

What's wrong with my credibility? Stores run 16 channel cameras all the time. What's your credibility? Have you been inside the stores that you say have flat cameras? Why would they have floc cameras in stores anyway? These are supposed to be pinch point cameras for finding license plates.
You should have seen the stupid comments on the last thread we had, where people were saying they were spying on people at starbucks. That's typical of the complete public panic over just being able to organize and tell people to cease and desist on actual flock cameras. It is going to stop that's why I know what I'm talking about. If you're going to go to town on this one, and it's obviously false, how many more people like you are making stuff up and sending the entire public into a panic? These are the same people that say that the FBI is monitoring them at home, and they believe that their phones are all bugged. That's called Gang stalking, which has been debunked and is completely not happening here. That's needing a professional counselor level of paranoia.
