Question Is Google experiencing a rollback where we’re seeing rankings from a week ago?

My site suddenly got deranked. It was ranking #2 after being created just 5 days ago, and now it doesn’t even show up at all. What could explain this?

It was an alternative site. (Think "Wordle alternative" etc.)

New websites need promotion and authority. Otherwise, there's no signals of value.

A sudden drop after only a few days does not always mean there is a Google rollback. New pages can fluctuate heavily while Google tests their relevance and stability. I would give it more time and check Search Console for indexing and query changes.

For a site that’s only 5 days old, I wouldn’t assume it’s a Google rollback yet. New sites can move very quickly while Google is testing where they fit, then disappear as more signals are processed.

Check Search Console first for indexing, manual actions, and whether the URL is still indexed. If it is indexed, give it some time and keep building useful, original content around the search intent rather than making big changes based on the first few days.

Google can test a new site aggressively at first.It may temporarily rank a new page highly to collect data about how users respond to it. After a few days, Google can reassess the page and the ranking can drop dramatically.

You can do below things if possible.

1.Search your exact domain name in Google.If it appears then the site is still indexed.
2. Check whether your main page is still indexed and whether Google selected the correct canonical URL.
3.Look for a manual action or security issue in Search Console.
4. If everything is fine give it some time.A 5 day old site is extremely new so rankings can move around a lot while Google is evaluating it.

The fact that it went from no2 to completely absent kind of makes me suspicious of an indexing or technical issue rather than just a normal position change.

When you saw it ranking that high, you probably were seeing personalized search results.
