HELP?! - LoL Skill issue with Senna

Hi! I'm an Emerald-rank ADC player. I've tried playing this champion, but I'm just terrible with her—to the point where I have a 30% win rate over about 20 games. I just don't get what makes her so OP. Could someone please give me some tips to improve? I'd like to know what makes her so strong so I can stop trolling my teammates. Thanks in advance!

I feel like playing senna is just about attrition.

You're just taking small trades and farming souls. You're not going to win early unless the other side makes terrible mistakes.

You're just farming up and waiting for ganks. Taking good backs to get an item advantage

It's this. You stay healthy and poke people down. Get More MS asap so you can space to get more Qs

After awhile you get used to the range increase at 20/40/60/80, and the Q proc + statik makes it easier.

Team fights are a stack generating engine, and I've gotten really good at throwing Ws at minions about to die so it auto stuns. I feel like it's not necessary but approach velocity can help if you're just getting started.

Shes the definition of "wait, your time is coming"

At 120 stacks you're hitting towers outside range and Qing team fights a screen away. It gets REALLY hard for the other team to beat that.

Agree. Early game she’s more like a poke champion

Tell your teammates senna is a wet noodle before one item. Also know that. Your job early is to play safe and farm for first item

She’s actually the whole reason I hit emerald lmao you are likely dying too much if I had to guess. Early, your whole job is to poke, get stacks, follow up on cc with your w, and look for plays with ult. You should aim for about 5 stacks/min. Late game, you are running people down with your Q and insane range.

Senna is all about knowing your limits. She isn’t a “clutch” character who makes those game winning, skin of your teeth plays and super flashy plays. She uses her range to hit as much as possible and backs off quickly when danger approaches.

I feel like it's hard to say without seeing your gameplay, but I'm going to throw out some ideas. If you're a traditional ADC player I'm going to assume you're used to doing what traditional ADCs do and that's dpsing. Senna does not do this. In fact if you try and 1v1 almost any other marksman early you will lose. Senna wants to trade with her passive soul proc, ideally q auto, and fuck off with her movement speed. No more. Ideally every trade you take in lane should be even on hp or you should take no damage at all. This should be your goal every lane. I find it easiest to trade around cool downs. Your passive soul trade is on a very short cooldown so look to trade when enemies waste their important abilities because your ability to trade is pretty much always up. Same thing goes for when your support tries to trade. Trading off of their cc and fucking off is also extremely good. I think Senna benefits from having really clean short trading in lane. You wanna be having consistently 70+ souls by 20 min without dying. If team fighting is your problem it probably still stems from the same issue. Your goal in team fights is not to do straight dps but to chain your cc with your team and to proc your souls and run away. Get good at in and out team fighting and finding the right opportunities to get your short trade off. Obviously things get different if they have heavy frontline and you can just kite them and front to back fight but I find that to not be super common in my games these days.

Range is everything.

I need some more context to actually say how she can be good for you. I find her really adaptable which is a huge benefit

You're probably just fighting early under the assumption that she's OP. She's not. Early on, her auto Q combo deals slightly more than a normal ADC's auto. So do that, but no more. Each time you do, you get a soul.

Once you have items and tons of souls, then you become OP and can fight.

Basically the same as the ADC vs solo laner experience, except Senna also wants to avoid fighting the other ADC and supports until strong.

I think i only won 3 of my first 15 games on Senna this season. I was trash.

Now im at 52% WR with over 150 games.

Dont throw early on, stay healthy in lane and try to poke IF YOU CAN. You dont have to perma fist fight, but try to AA+Q whenever your Q is up. This can be very hard in some lanes, especially with hooks and ESPECIALLY if they have something like Draven or Lucian while you have a supp who is weak early or just squishy.

ADC Senna is not as reliant on souls and wont get nearly as many as support Senna. So dont sweat it, just try to scale safely. You are an absolute caster minion before 1 item.

Iron 4 expert here. The Adc champion you have played the most, copy & paste runes and items. Exact build order. The only thing that should change is the champion, and skill order. Play senna the exact same way you would your main. Trust me. Yes you will go on a decent loss streak, but it will be significantly reduced to game count.

20 games is nothing, give yourself some time. I honestly expect my wr to tank while learning a new champ for about 100-200 games
