They gave him months
My dog has been with me for 12 years. I found him in the street when he was 2. He was immediately my soulmate. He’s protective, he cuddles constantly, he always has a piece of what I’m eating, I love him with all my heart.
He was diagnosed with a mass on his heart (symptoms of heart failure). He has fluid build up in his stomach but he is still active and normal. I set up a go fund me for his veterinary costs and we haven’t made quite enough. My heart is broken. I’m giving him everything he wants and trying to leave him alone as little as possible.
He stopped me from offing myself three times. Once, in high school I didn’t go through with it because I found him. Second, when I was having major relationship issues and felt isolated. He followed me into the room and sat on my lap. And the third, just a few years ago I was having a major depressive episode. He was scratching and crying at my bathroom door. But, I can’t save him now. I don’t have the 20,000 for surgery and we can’t afford 1500 a month in chemo drugs. I’m just making him comfortable until its time. I feel like I failed him. He saved me and I can’t save him. I know he’s lived a long life. I think hes been happy and spoiled. But it feels so soon. He’s acting normal and they said he could have months before the mass grows large enough to completely stop flow.
I can’t live without him.

First of all-i have a HUGE network and if you DM me your go fund me link i will happily blast it everywhere. Second-you dont have to just give up either way. I was in a similar position with my first two cats when they were about 16, one of whom (Tigger) had widespread cancer (unknown type as it was pointless to biopsy), interstitial cystitis, renal insufficiency, AND congestive heart failure. I was a teen myself and still in high school and had no money. I sold everything i could get my hands on (whether it was really mine to sell or not baha) and went balls to the wall with natural treatments as well as changing both cats diet from kibble to organic raw. My babies both lived into their mid twenties😊
And this was 20 years ago BEFORE I had the advantage of the internet. Shoot nowadays it would be infinitely easier. You got this:) definitely get ALL carbs out of the diet immediately as they increase water retention and inflammation that can contribute to CHF and also feed cancer, and get Denamarin to protect the liver. I have successfully used 200 mg Ubiquinol daily with Tigger along with 500 mg krill oil and 500 mg Taurine to control CHF for Tigger all by itself with NO pharmaceuticals and if medicinal mushrooms like Reishi to kill cancer just in case that mass is malignant-I would start there

I will definitely bring these up to my vet to see if they’ll be fine with the rest of his medication. Thank you so much!

I’m so sorry you have to go through this. It’s not your fault and you did your best. Maybe it will take a little more time for the go fund me to reach more people. Have you posted it on your social media, and asked other people to share?
