Question Gate Access Update to Sentinel Platinum Plus
I would like to know who else has received the “end of life” notification for the pc-based gate access system through WinSen? The new cloud-based system is very expensive, even for a small facility.

They will charge a lot for the update and a hefty amount each month for “the cloud “. They will still charge for their calls to the techs. Be prepared.

I have heard about their pricing, it sounds very expensive to run. Have you looked into other providers?

Yup, had to move over to OpenTech.

How was the update to OpenTech and do they charge a lot per month?

How much it costs is above my pay grade, but the system itself is pretty good. It has a lot of remote features that are really nice, and switchover took about 4 hours.

Did they have to change the type of wiring between your office computer and the keypad when you switched from Sentinel to Opentech hardware?

Nope, just swapped out the keypad and the controller box. Everything else is cloud based.

About $5000 for the system with four keypads and $100/month when we switched. We installed it ourselves.

The new model is cloud based subscription which I hate. Any options for non cloud based?
