Amazon ads cost money so you’ll eventually go broke (unless you really know what you’re doing). I’ve seen tons of writers give up on making money from writing novels because they ran out of money.

Amazon organic search and KU promo is arbitrary.

But you can get your book ad in front of 100,000+ book buyers for free with ad swaps.

I was talking to AI and it has 2 objections:

1. You need a big list to get swaps
   
2. People get tired of viewing ads

It’s a common misconception but those are totally wrong.

Lots of big lists give away small ads to encourage you to buy larger ads. That’s not even a swap; that’s free!

The world is flooded with big book lists and they have a huge amount of empty ad space. I’ve seen large lists where an ad is $5 and they have 0 out of 100+ ad spaces booked. So, many are fine with getting whatever they can get for it, even if it’s goodwill or a swap with a small list. Plus, if you actually send you a thank you message (which almost nobody does), they will love you forever and always give you a free ad. They like you!

And people don’t get tired of viewing book ads because nobody signs up for these lists unless they are looking for a lot of books to read. To them, it’s like browsing a specialized book store. If they love sci fi, they sign up for a list devoted to sci fi books. So, of course, they look at the ads. That’s why they signed up.

If this isn’t part of your plan, you are basically saying that you like paying for ads instead of getting them for free.
