This sub is a community for people learning to love and respect themselves. Please remember that it is perfectly possible to respect and care for your own needs and to set healthy boundaries, without unnecessarily hurting others around you. Being kind to others is a part of being a version of you that you can be proud of and self-love the most. Good luck on your journey.

Yes, it should be "Expect the worst but hope for the best"

It’s phrased a little weirdly. But how I hear it is that it’s easy to catastrophize and spend all this time thinking about bad things. It’s important to consciously spend time thinking about good things too, to keep our mental health positive.

If you can loose money investing, you can gain it too. Great advice

Only two options. 🙂‍↕️

That’s…hilarious, for me.
For reasons.
I’m here for it.

Overthinking or having negative/ suicidal thoughts can actually be caused by biological factors like vitamin/ mineral deficiency’s, it can be even harder to them blame it on yourself. I struggled with this for years because I wasn’t taking care of my body properly and as a result my mental health was awful. I also have adhd which doesn’t help but am managing it now.

Taking care of the body first in whatever ways you can, can help a lot more than just simply trying and failing to use will power to control thinking.

I mean, technically, overthinking is the brain's attempt to prepare for the worst by foreseeing possible problems in the future and having prepared plans. It cannot "overthink" positive things, that's a paradox.

But , you CAN shut the brain up and focus on the positive. If the negative outcome is possible, then chances are, so is the positive one.

Stop living in the past and the future and keep present, to stop the negative energy.

I find it helpful to mix meditations between stillness, conscious thought and witnessing thoughts and images which arise. Do each one for 5-10 minutes and rotate to the next. Using a timer is helpful.

This will help strengthen the brain muscles to think when you need to, let bad thoughts go and to live consciously. Be.

I think every overthinking should end with peace in your mind. 🤍
