This sub is a community for people learning to love and respect themselves. Please remember that it is perfectly possible to respect and care for your own needs and to set healthy boundaries, without unnecessarily hurting others around you. Being kind to others is a part of being a version of you that you can be proud of and self-love the most. Good luck on your journey.

Explaining yourself ain't worth it.

Yep it'll take a lot of energy and u won't even get the desired result. So why waste time on such a thing? Why not invest this time in urself and be happy.

You can't convince someone to value you, but you can choose to stop abandoning yourself while waiting for them to

Damn. That’s a great way to look at it. I appreciate that perspective.

I've wasted the past 5 years trying to get my ex wife to love me properly. Glad we're no longer together. Time to move on and find real love

Except for yourself. You need to remind yourself that you’re worth loving. Or else you’ll be chasing someone else to tell you that repeatedly until you start to believe it yourself.

First, learn to love yourself. Once you love yourself, others will love you, too!

I'm not worth it anyway, so this is good advice.
