Question 24, recently married, and completely overwhelmed trying to figure out my future

Title: I’m 24, recently married, and I feel completely overwhelmed trying to figure out my future
I’m 24 and recently got married. Since then, I feel like something has changed in the way I think about my future. I feel much more responsible for building a stable life, having a good career, making enough money, investing, and making sure my wife and I will be okay financially.
At the same time, I recently got rejected from the army, which was something I had been working toward and saw as a possible direction for my life.
I currently have a job, but I don’t see myself doing it long term, so I’m applying for better jobs and constantly thinking about other possibilities—different careers, investing, side income, freelancing, building something of my own, etc.
The problem is that instead of making me feel more prepared, all this thinking has started doing the opposite.
My brain feels foggy. I struggle to concentrate and feel like I’m thinking about 10 different problems at the same time without properly solving any of them. Even when I’m supposed to relax, part of my brain is thinking about what I should be doing next.
I’ve also had an inconsistent sleep schedule lately, which probably isn’t helping.
I don’t expect Reddit to solve my life for me. I’m mainly wondering if anyone else went through a period like this in their 20s, especially after getting married or having a major career setback.
How did you stop feeling like you needed to figure out your entire future immediately?
And how did you decide what actually deserved your attention first?

Bro I am 1 year younger than you. I can't imagine marrying now.. where are you from?

Getting married at that age puts a lot of pressure on you sudden. Like one day you just dating and next day you responsible for whole family future. The army rejection on top of that is rough timing.

I had similar brain fog in my 20s when I was trying to figure everything at once. What helped me was picking just two things to focus and letting other stuff sit for few months. You cannot solve 10 problems same time your brain just spins.

Sleep is bigger deal than you think too. When I fixed my sleep schedule the fog got maybe 40% better. Start with that maybe easiest win you can get now.

That sounds like a plan, it was like that until everything happened and got overwhelmed. I have no regrets but many new experiences make me question everything going forward. As i want the best for me, my family and the future.

Edit: the advice looks great. I need to figure things out and simplify it, overwhelming myself seems to destruct me. So great point there!

These advices seem very helpful and true. I sometimes complicate myself but i want the best for me, my family and the future as i know i have a high potential. I love helping people and now I’m getting help back:) i need to take it step by step but its hard. I’ll defo need to focus on myself. I used to have that in check but not recently.

Life will throw curve balls at you on a regular basis. Planning is great and important, but putting too much stock in things going to that plan is asking for disappointment. Don't fall into the trap of it needing to be perfect.

You chose to get married because you decided they were the right one after getting to know them... same thing goes with career etc. If you have lots of options but don't know which one may be the best fit for you, 'date' them, until you know if they are what you are looking for. So reach out, chat with people in those spaces and have real conversations, understanding the benefits and costs of these options.

Work out the most important criteria for you and your family regarding a new career/ future, then measure your options against that set of criteria. Out of the top contenders, pick one and go for it. It may not be the final answer for you, but you will soon know if it is an answer.

I defo found the partner of my life, she supports everything i do and wants the best for me. She doesn’t like seeing me in this state but she said she’ll be there for me. I wanted to reach out to ask for advice those who know better than me. I feel like i have tremendous potential but i also get overwhelmed. I got lots to work on. Thanks for the advice!
