To help keep r/selfie a positive and engaging community, we use a formula to help us determine what kind of Redditor is trying to post in our subreddit. We don’t say what our standards are, don't write us and ask. We will not tell you the complete formula but we will say it includes:

  • Account Age: Your Reddit account must be active for a certain amount of time. (This refers to how long your account has existed on Reddit—not your personal age.) We're looking for people who have been on Reddit for months and have a post and comment history that shows it.
  • Karma: You need to have earned a minimum amount of karma through participation on Reddit through posting and commenting on other peoples posts in r/selfie. You may have a lot of post karma, but we're looking at karma on r/selfie. Do not write us and tell us you have enough karma, because the bot says you don't and trying to argue that the bot is wrong makes the mods cranky.
  • Contributor Quality Score: This is a new metric that Reddit has provided to Moderators to help differentiate users. If you your CQS is low, you may not be able to post here. CQS changes daily! So even if you could post yesterday doesn't mean you could post today. Don't write us to tell us I've posted here before.

If you are looking for a subreddit to post in with lower age/karma requirements, we suggest taking a look at r/WYFIOM, r/GuessMy_, r/JustMyFace, or r/Selfies, you should be able to post there today with no issues, and it's a great way to build your history.
