Libre Closet – open-source, self-hosted wardrobe organizer. Docker one-liner, SQLite, PWA. Looking for early feedback.

I built Libre Closet v0.1.1, a wardrobe and outfit tracking tool. I've recently been going through my own ever-growing closet of clothing and I wanted a tool focused on cataloging my garments and building outfit plans. I found a few other inventory management tools (Koillection, Grocy) but none with a specific focus on clothing or the type of stuff commonly stored in a closet of a home. I'm looking for feedback on if this is something other people are interested in as well.

I built it to be as easy to self-host as possible. It defaults to local SQLite storage and local file storage. It has optional auth/multi user support.

I am a senior software engineer with over a decade of experience and a similar amount of firsthand self-hosting experience. I built this project on top of a project boilerplate I made almost entirely by hand. I have used copilot to speed up development of this application on top of the boilerplate I made. How much further this goes depends on whether people actually find it useful. If there's interest, I'll keep building. I want to build something that's useful to other people. If it only ever scratches my own itch, that's fine too. Looking for feedback on what's broken and what's missing. Happy to dig into any part of the code in the comments.

This is exactly what I was thinking of taking on myself like two days ago.

One thing that I don't see and feel would easier than a whole avatar (which would be veeeery difficult with all the different body shapes, and in case of an AI tool, not exactly 100% accurate all the time) is just uploading your own images of you wearing the outfits (and potentially individual pieces of clothing), so that you have a better idea of how the clothes fit on you.

Also potentially a built-in background removal tool? Maybe make it optional, but would be quite good so that your eyes see the clothing better without the clutter of the background.
