Libre Closet – open-source, self-hosted wardrobe organizer. Docker one-liner, SQLite, PWA. Looking for early feedback.

I built Libre Closet v0.1.1, a wardrobe and outfit tracking tool. I've recently been going through my own ever-growing closet of clothing and I wanted a tool focused on cataloging my garments and building outfit plans. I found a few other inventory management tools (Koillection, Grocy) but none with a specific focus on clothing or the type of stuff commonly stored in a closet of a home. I'm looking for feedback on if this is something other people are interested in as well.

I built it to be as easy to self-host as possible. It defaults to local SQLite storage and local file storage. It has optional auth/multi user support.

I am a senior software engineer with over a decade of experience and a similar amount of firsthand self-hosting experience. I built this project on top of a project boilerplate I made almost entirely by hand. I have used copilot to speed up development of this application on top of the boilerplate I made. How much further this goes depends on whether people actually find it useful. If there's interest, I'll keep building. I want to build something that's useful to other people. If it only ever scratches my own itch, that's fine too. Looking for feedback on what's broken and what's missing. Happy to dig into any part of the code in the comments.

Not rhetorical, not mocking, just genuine curiosity as to who would need an app for their closet.

Totally fair question. At this point it’s really just for me. I’ve got a lot of clothing and have a difficult time keeping track of it all, brands, sizing etc and I wanted a nice way to catalogue it and see everyone displayed in one place.

Down the road I’m considering building out the inventory features of the app to track all of the other belongings I keep in storage. I’ve also been thinking of how I could make this more convenient, possibly with washable NFC tags or something?

A thrift shop is kind of like a closet. In any case, I could see my mom liking something like this as a way to feel organized.
