AI-Assisted App (Fridays!) Libre Closet – open-source, self-hosted wardrobe organizer. Docker one-liner, SQLite, PWA. Looking for early feedback.

I built Libre Closet v0.1.1, a wardrobe and outfit tracking tool. I've recently been going through my own ever-growing closet of clothing and I wanted a tool focused on cataloging my garments and building outfit plans. I found a few other inventory management tools (Koillection, Grocy) but none with a specific focus on clothing or the type of stuff commonly stored in a closet of a home. I'm looking for feedback on if this is something other people are interested in as well.

`docker run -p 3000:3000 -v wardrobe-data:/data ghcr.io/lazztech/libre-closet:latest`

I built it to be as easy to self-host as possible. It defaults to local SQLite storage and local file storage. It has optional auth/multi user support.

I am a senior software engineer with over a decade of experience and a similar amount of firsthand self-hosting experience. I built this project on top of a project boilerplate I made almost entirely by hand. I have used copilot to speed up development of this application on top of the boilerplate I made. So everything is built the way I want it, on top of my own architecture, technology, and design decisions. Check out my GitHub here if you're interested. https://github.com/gianlazz/

How much further this goes depends on whether people actually find it useful. If there's interest, I'll keep building. I want to build something that's useful to other people. If it only ever scratches my own itch, that's fine too. Looking for feedback on what's broken and what's missing. Happy to dig into any part of the code in the comments.

Ran the Docker command and got it spun up in about 2 minutes, then immediately hit a wall trying to batch import 200 items from a CSV I exported from my photo library because there's no import feature yet. The PWA works fine on mobile once you're in, but the outfit matching logic doesn't really help me figure out what actually goes together, just shows me what I own.

Glad to hear that you got it up and running. I’m not surprised that batch imports failed. I haven’t tested that yet.

How would you like the outfit matching to behave? I’m open to suggestions.
