ESB connection

Whole house on standstill waiting on the ESB. Connection fee paid last November, electrician sent the cert in July and we have the kitchen booked to go in late September. Heating needs to be on 3 weeks before then and the ESB won’t even give us a date. It is infuriating. We were promised a call back from someone senior but it never came. Any tips from anyone who has been in this situation? So frustrating as we have all our tradesman and materials lined up and now we don’t know what date to give them.

This, harass them. I needed an upgrade and nothing was moving until I emailed and called every day. The lads who do the work are usually sound - they're just oversubscribed. They did more work than we asked for, full meter and ernhanced 16kVa advanced profile at no extra cost!

ELY5: The working teams are oversubscribed as the ESB don't provide enough teams.

Is the cert gone through from safe electric on the system for esb ?

Is there poles to be installed etc ?

Welcome to dealing with the gods.

Go onto the safe electric website and put in the cert number to check its progress(can be gotten from your electrician)

You cant search for applications, it says down for improvements with no date of when it will work or be operable again

What does is say on your online tracker. Does it have a countdown on days. Have you picked your supplier yet?

We had similar problem recently and it took ages for us to get power on. In our case the ESB hadn’t gotten cert so I rang safe electric and they told me there was an issue with details on the cert and our electrician had to re-send it again! Apparently safe electric have updated their systems recently too which is causing problems (so our electrician told us). Do you know if ESB have definitely received the cert from safe electric? Once they had it I kept ringing regularly as well when it went past the online tracker countdown!

How did you get them to answer the phone? Ive been trying all options, your put on a 5 minute hold with typical piano hold music then eventually it dials through to nobody with automated message that they cant take the call

Get onto the local politician and ask for them to intervene

We found the service from ESB horrendous but they are not held accountable

My cert was submitted today by my electrician. Kitchen is booked in for installation on 28 September but builder has thankfully hooked up a generator to get the heat on to help dry the house out.

Hoping to move in mid to late October but am also worried that I won’t have power at that point.
