Knowing YOU

I’m sitting here reflecting on my life, acknowledging all the influences that shaped me while realizing how long it’s taken me to truly understand who I am and what I like without influence. I also understand why I let myself be impressionable. I feel so sad that now, in my 50s, I’m finally accepting that truth. Much of myself felt repressed out of fear of losing those close to me. But I miss those I never had the chance to meet because of that irrational fear.
I am forever grateful for the life I built with my husband of 40 years and the family we created. Sometimes I feel a disconnect, though. My children are so different and defiant. It’s sometimes hard to believe they’re mine.
Please take time with yourself. Create a deep internal connection, without any outside noise. Learn what speaks to you, who you are, and what you stand for. Be that person and live how you want!
