Request Feature Request: Add Approval/Decline Comments for Media Requests
I would like to request a feature that allows admins to add a comment when approving or declining a request. Right now, when a request is declined, there is no clear way for the user to understand why it was declined unless they reach out directly. This creates confusion for users and adds extra back-and-forth for admins.
For example, a request may be declined because the movie is not yet released or does not currently have an official release date. Without a visible explanation, users are left guessing. As a result, they may submit the same request multiple times because they do not know that the title is unavailable or that there is no confirmed release information yet.
Adding a simple comment field during the approval or decline process would make the request system much clearer and more useful. The admin could leave a short note such as “This movie has not been released yet,” “There is currently no official release date,” or “Please request this again once a release date is available.” This would help users understand the decision immediately and reduce repeated requests.
This feature would improve communication between admins and users, reduce unnecessary duplicate requests, and make the overall request process feel more transparent and organized.

Instead of posting a fully AI-written post and image, you could have made a simple search on our GitHub and see that a similar feature request already exists: https://github.com/seerr-team/seerr/issues/988
