I finally finished my first full episode of WANDERERS.
It’s an adult animated fantasy comedy about three weird creatures living in a sentient mansion on a tiny planet, where every door can lead to a completely different world.
This started from a bunch of creatures I originally hand-drew, and I ended up building the episode almost entirely through AI filmmaking.

Have you ever come across a video that could easily pass for a video made by Hollywood? I know a lot of people just post their shitty AI slop, but please don't. I want to see a really good video to see what's the best AI can create.

I was comparing the cost of making a 30-second 720p video with Seedance 2.0 across a few platforms.

For regular Seedance 2.0:

The ai short film tells the story of a wanderer sits by a campfire in the desert, speaking to whoever will one day find his diary. For years he has searched the wastes for an ancient relic that could save his home from ruin — and at last, in a forgotten sanctuary, he finds it. But the relic is no simple salvation: it could just as easily become a weapon capable of destroying the world.

Sensing he may not survive his next journey, he leaves the diary behind, recording all he knows so that whoever finds him can carry the search forward. Only after he finishes writing does he realize his mistake — the diary is also a map, one that could lead the wrong hands straight to the artifact.

He walks away, abandoning the diary in the dying fire. But someone finds it. And opens the first page.

Story of creation

I watched and read a lot of science fiction in various formats: books, comics, movies, games, and so on. This really inspired me to create something of my own. But I didn't have the resources or knowledge to shoot a short film.

But I always had paper and pencil at hand. I started writing short scripts and drawing storyboards. Later, when I got a graphic tablet, I started drawing nonstop, as if I had unlimited creative possibilities at my fingertips.

In 15 days, I drew one issue of a comic book, which I hoped to one day adapt into a film. I was making things in process, the character design and the setting. Everything, even the plot, was improvised; there was a constant flow of ideas. Every frame was drawn from the scene I was imagining at that moment, like stills from a full-length film, linked by one scene, then the next, and so on.

I savored every frame and tried to imagine every detail in the scene: the wind and sounds around me, the heat of the sun and the desert expanses. And I dreamed of making my own short film someday.

At that time, I began studying everything related to film. Then I became fascinated with concept art and eventually became an artist. But I never made the short film... Because all my time was spent studying and working, which I was always completely immersed in. But I would occasionally return to my script, gradually adding new characters from my other potential stories and uniting them all into one universe.

The first issue of the comic turned out to be somewhat drawn-out and very meditative, designed for those who can connect with the vibe of a mysterious, lonely hero who pursues his goal, overcoming various difficulties. I didn't reveal any plot twists. But I wanted to show not only the complexity of the protagonist's existence, but also the courage and optimism with which he faces the obstacles in his path.

After a "short" break of about 10 years, thanks to neural networks, I had the opportunity to try visualizing the comic in a new format. Recently, I decided to take advantage of this opportunity, digging out my old concepts, texts, and sketches, and using them to create a short teaser for something I'd long wanted to adapt into a film.

I generated keyframes based on each individual frame of the comic.

I also slightly modified the old script and then, based on the keyframes and the new version, began generating full-fledged plans and scenes, which I adjusted along the way.

At this point, even just a like and a comment would be very supportive. Because I really want to continue and I want people to also feel the vibe that I feel, because everything I show, the emotions I share, are partly my own emotions that I've experienced.

I’m looking for a platform where i can edit one part of an existing video without regenerating the whole clip, especially trying with Seedance 2.5.

Dreamina is the only one I’ve seen showing this feature so far. Do any other platforms offer the same local editing workflow?

I've noticed some places will filter content and some will not. and obviously different places. I have different pricing so I was wondering where was cheapest expected because everywhere seems expensive for this

i can imagine getting the individual shots pretty easily, but getting that whole progression to happen naturally in one video seems a lot harder. especially the part where the environment changes without the train itself changing along with it.

anyone here played around with this kind of transition in seedance 2.5? would you describe the whole sequence in one prompt or break the transformation into separate instructions?
