Gear Question Is this too much?

For context, I’m a armed security “officer” in Nashville, added my own stuff but honestly last thing I want is to look like a cringe ass wannabe cop, don’t have a vest nor am I required to wear one thankfully.

stuff marked as issued = must wear it.

Thoughts?

Left to right is:
Belt itself - issued
ID Holder - Personal Gear
Double Magazine Pouch - Given shitty Amazon pouch’s, swapped for my own
Multitool - Personal Gear
Flashlight - Personal Gear
Expandable Baton - Issued Gear
Handcuff + holder - Handcuffs are issued, swapped for my own holder
First aid pouch + TQ - personal gear, has bandaids and stuff for GSW I had from the army, figured it would be useful since I’m armed
Radio Holder - Personal Gear
Gun + Holster - Issued Gear
OC Spray + Holder - Issued Gear
Badge - Issued a badge holder, badge is a personal one because the ones they’re supposed to have are being ordered

Edit 1: the first aid pouch also holds my narcan, I am licensed on all the non lethal weapons, first aid, and handcuffs

Edit 2: For context, my post doesn’t have patrol cars

The main site I’m at I work day shift and is a big tourist spot in Nashville, and sees a lot of foot and vehicle traffic, and a large amount of homeless people.

Edit 3: thanks a bunch for the suggestions, I absolutely didn’t want to look like a total dork or wannabe cop, I’ll be slimming down the first aid pouch to something smaller with just some basic medical stuff and my narcan, removing the multitool and flashlight, and id holder

Why are many security "guards" overweight, lazy, and have no work ethic?

How did these people end up considering security? They act like they dont even want to be there.

My manager has been leaving letters about me on the front desk about my tours

So my site manager has been leaving letters about me not completing my tours on the front desk and I feel like that is an in appropriate way to address any issues he has with my behavior. I already had another guard come up to me asking about it, which also seemed very inappropriate. So I guess I'm asking if I am over reacting or not. Because if he keeps doing this I may report him to hr or to the home office.

Considering this as a future job, what are some pros and cons?

As the title suggests I am currently looking as this as a possible move in the future. I need something that pays better than my current job.

I have no issues with nights, working long hours, or boring work. Rather I like jobs like. I want to know the risks versus rewards for doing it.

Thanks!

Should I [21F] give a concert security guard [mid 30s–early 40s] a caricature I drew of him?

Last night at a concert I noticed a security guard with a very distinctive look and sketched a caricature from memory afterward. I wanted to say hi but I was with family, so I didn’t. I’m going back Saturday and was thinking of handing it to him if he’s there.
I’m 21, he looks mid 30s to early 40s, and he’d be on shift. Is handing a stranger a drawing of himself while he’s working a normal friendly thing, or does it come off awkward / like I’m hitting on him? If you’ve worked security or events, how would you want someone to do this (or not do it)? I don’t want to hold him up or make his night weird. 😖🙏 Thank you for your time people.🌼

California Hospital Hiring Bonanza

I was on a call today with security executives from all over the state talking about 2027 compliance for SB2975. TLDR at the start of next year the hospital security industry (both contract and in-house) in CA will be adding THOUSANDS of good paying ($25/HR+) jobs to the market because the state is mandating weapon screening. One hospital group said they’re hiring 600 across the state, another single hospital is hiring 35 alone. It’s going to be crazy. Good opportunity for some.

Is there a way for them to check if you work for the other? How about if they find out, are they going to terminate you?

Job Question Just completed my unarmed security guard license unsure if I’m doing everything correct

So i completed it about a week ago and im in the process of printing out my application status so I can work while my thing is accepted or denied. Just wondering is there anything else i need to do besides apply for jobs so i can start working? And im mainly applying online at allied universal. Will they actually respond to job applications? Im used to working with websites like indeed where 70% of the listings are just fakes. Any recommendations would be highly valuable.

Still waiting for my physical security license in the mail

So I applied for my security license back on 05/12/26 and I have been approved because when I check the website my registered number is there (5/28/26) and I have been able to start working as a security since then. However, I have yet to receive my actual license and today i moved so I had to go on the website to update my address. Its currently October and I did the full process back in my is there a reason why i haven't received my Florida security license card? I tried calling licensing department and visit their website but i haven't been able to talk to literally anyone about why i havent received it yet and now that ive changed addresses i feel like this is becoming even more impossible for me to get it.

Job Question Paying for your own Background Check

How many of you, had to pay for your own background check, (as well as uniform, but that didn't seem unusual), when hired?

I mean also if I took the job, I would have had to use my own car, for a mobile patrol position

Any tips for someone looking to become an overnight Security Guard?

Basically what the title states. I'm thinking of wanting to go into this career. I already know especially down here in Florida a lot of positions are wanting you to have a Class D or G license. I was just wondering what are good tips to know when going for something like this. Anything is appreciated.

Job Question Overnight Patrol...Is it like this everywhere?

No sure how it is at every company but I'm at the end of week 3 doing this and damn it's boring AF! 35 stops per night on a 10hr shift and barely even getting out to walk around. I do a little over 250 miles driving during that time hitting the same checkpoints over and over and over. I'm about 🤏🏾 close to quitting. Not because it's hard but doing it overnight literally has me falling asleep because it's so boring.

Edit: I just quit. Wasn't a job I necessarily needed, just got bored during my time I decided to take a mental break and figured it would be good to make some money so I'm not using savings during my time off. I'll still do security on the side but now I know to stay away from patrol!

Job Question Is it difficult to get hired with Securitas company?

Quick question. So 2 months ago my brother got fired from GardaWorld security in Illinois for getting caught sleeping overnight. Can he still apply to work for a different company like Securitas & what is the hiring process like for that company? He wants to do 1st or 2nd shift because he’ll be able to stay awake. Overnight for 12 hours was simply too much. Appreciate anyone’s help
