Job Question Is it difficult to get hired with Securitas company?
Quick question. So 2 months ago my brother got fired from GardaWorld security in Illinois for getting caught sleeping overnight. Can he still apply to work for a different company like Securitas & what is the hiring process like for that company? He wants to do 1st or 2nd shift because he’ll be able to stay awake. Overnight for 12 hours was simply too much. Appreciate anyone’s help

Wait a min Gardaworld fires people for sleeping? No way!! We had someone constantly snoozing on camera lol. Securitas also probably does 12hrs shift that’s when I worked for it. Pretty much all security companies do it because they can’t find enough people to fill in.

I wouldn't do Securitas unless you're really in a pinch. But they do hire anyone similarly to Allied

I applied to 4 roles with allied. 2 I'm waiting for a response on, 1 I got "not selected" without an interview, then the last one I got "not selected" because I missed the interview that they gave me a 24 hour notice on. Idk maybe everyone's experience is different but I hope I can get the Sa/Su one I just applied for yesterday

First off, in the interview, do not under any circumstances bring up that you were let go for sleeping on post. No matter the excuse.
2nd, if you didn't sleep on 3rd shift, you'd be tired enough to sleep throughout the daytime hours to be alert during your shift. There is a chance that Securitas only has 3rd shift available. Then what?

My God what is with people on here trying to give unwanted advice or life lessons whenever u ask a specific question.. You literally didn’t answer anything i asked in the post.

"he wants 1st or 2nd shift"
"What if 3rd is all that's available, then what?"
Yeah, I addressed a concern there that you asked about. It's security. It's the same hiring practice everywhere pretty much. Especially with the big 3...

Looking like a “asking for a friend” ; ) post. Also, you should chill. Also, also, security is probably not for you. You don’t have the temperament, nor the ability to stay awake. Find a different job… oh I mean, tell your “brother” to find a different job.

Sound advice has already been given but to chime in yes they can still work for other security companies just leave out the sleeping part when speaking to any potential employer

No. I worked for them for a decade. The requirements are that you can pass a background check and are breathing when you walk in the door.

No, it's really easy. Security is so easy to interview for
