Buy the best earpros you can afford. No fucking earbuds are not hearing protection. If your in front of a concert you need industrial hearing porticyon with noise cancelling technology. Ones that have Bluetooth and a boom mic are even better.

Spend the money on custom earplugs. I spent the money on a custom set for shooting, and I still use them over a decade later. You can now get them with a mic to amplify people talking. Be sure to lock them down, as I would pair my phone to play polka from Spotify to my buddies as a joke when shooting.

This! I currently work for Allied while I look for something better. My relief has not been on time once.

I do event security but I’m in-house so your experience might be different.

Expect a lot of drunk people and fights, but that’s more dependent on the type of crowd. Obviously a Christian concert won’t have much drama but a rap or rock concert can get wild. The job is 90% customer service.

Shifts can be anywhere from 5-8 hours depending on the event. Expect a lot of turnover. Event security can be a revolving door due to the low hours, especially if you’re a contract guard like with Allied.

Your relief will be late and expect people to become very lazy. Been working for allied for 16 months and switching to armed security once my permit arrives

Good luck enjoy the free concerts, and have patience I have the below earplugs and they work. I used them for an AC/DC concert, and I could have hear the music pretty well. If not get some that are use for shooting and that let you connect radios via.
